Lions girls finish 3rd and avoid North Melbourne in the first week of finals
I haven’t followed them too much this season, but if they can pull off a premiership, it will be undoubtedly the greatest year in Brisbane professional sports history.
North Melbourne are just a ridiculously strong side though and we’ll need a miracle from ourselves or another team knocking them out to stop them

Hopefully it’ll be a similar storyline to the nrlw where the roosters were undefeated all season only to falter in the grand final. Big ask for the lions though.

What do you AFL fans think of them moving to a 10-team finals series next season.
The reports are that they'll have a wildcard round during the traditional pre-finals bye week.

It’s stupid. The AFL management try to model everything off American sports and this is what has been happening in the NBA. It gives teams 9 and 10 one last opportunity that apparently 6 previous months didn’t give them.
It will really actually disadvantaged the top teams who will get an extra week of which recent history shows, is a huge disadvantage.

Team 8 doesn't usually do that well. Team 5 has gone pretty well though. Doing this stupid play in system is answering a question no one asked and catering to a desire that didn't exist.
The current AFL leadership just continue to prove themselves inept.
