They really should move away from thinking the Gabba can be rebuilt... that area just looks like a nightmare from a construction perspective, but it's also not a great location to get to from a public transport perspective.
One of the broncos games I went to last year took me about 2hr to get home from and I live in the city... Suncorp on the other hand is never any issues... most people will head to Caxton St, but there's also Milton and Roma St train stations as well as busses... so getting out of the city never seems an issue.
All the talk about the Olympics is focussed on this one stadium though... there will need to be big upgrades from an infrastructure perspective and it seems like they've not even identified what's required from a master planning perspective.
Seems like they're still in the planning and feasibility stage when they should be out there tendering... definite risk that they run out of time at this stage.
Transport in the area really is excellent though, busway station across the road, they were planning a CRR station there too weren't they?
It should be there for mine. **** the useless school off. The reality is, they will not replace it with grass, it'll be apartments or some other shopping BS to appease whoever. Then they'll remove more green land at Victoria Point to build a stadium there too.
Just tell the nimby's to bugger off.
