The real headline should be "Bennett refuses to rule out any option"
I dunno maybe it’s a chance to learn his craft with a premiership winning half back and a premiership winning coach. Something he wouldn’t get at the tigers now that Benji has gone. What kind of offer does Billy find attractive? Billy we’d like to offer you a minimum wage contract.
Billy: this offer is too good to pass up!
Jack never. We took him on advice from the Shark's medicos. Who incidentally, also hoodwinked Bird.So did Jack Bird......... ....... <- lots of dots there to connect ;)
ProbeCome wed i will probe my suace's when they are back from Magic.
Surely you dip into your saucesCome wed i will probe my suace's when they are back from Magic.
I meant why would the club feel the need to offer Billy and attractive deal. He’s a nothing player and his dads the bossI dunno maybe it’s a chance to learn his craft with a premiership winning half back and a premiership winning coach. Something he wouldn’t get at the tigers now that Benji has gone.
Exactly thisThe real headline should be "Bennett refuses to rule out any option"
He literally kept every option open and just provided cliche answers to every question they asked... hell he even claimed the Easts bid was good even though they're a million to one of getting the license!!!
*ahem*Just out of interest @McHunt do you transcribe the pressers, or are you able to cut and paste from the newsfeeds?
I definitely can't read Wayne Bennett's mind, but I can see both scenarios.I will believe it when I see it, especially considering Brisbane 2 are going to be throwing the entire kitchen to lure Bennett there, but there is a part of me that gets the feeling that Wayne wants to work with Kev during his tenure as a first grade coach. Perhaps they have a closer relationship than many of us assume. They did win 5 premierships together after all.
I think if only to oversee Kevie winning a premiership and prove the point that Siebold didn't know shit from clay as far as running a footy club goes will be one strong pull in our favour.I definitely can't read Wayne Bennett's mind, but I can see both scenarios.
On one hand, the pull of being the foundation coach of another Brisbane team seems irresistible. It's new ground, but at the same time one he knows back to front. Whereas coming back to the Broncos as a spare wheel, well that's a bit of a been there done that.
On the other, like you say, working with Kevvie, returning home to the club he built and banging it back into shape, maybe that's his legacy. To right a wrong.
I honestly don't know which way he'll go. Or which way he should go.
What were they wanting to do?Good. What a fucking stupid idea lol
