Broncos 2020 Squad

If Macca is outperforming Turpin and keeps his spot in the side, that's a good thing.
If Turpin can't outperform Macca we're screwed. Our entire season rests on the Turpin/Croft combination transforming our attack.

Be confident fellas, the ingredients are there. Teams with less talent have gone to the top. If the rules are set to be performance based, we are in the mix. The pressure is now really on Seibs to maintain this discipline. If Boyd fires at centre, then good on him and credit to him, its an opportunity for him to turn the back end of his career around and go out well, he will be cheap next year even as a winger. Give them 4 rounds to fire and then start pulling the triggers.

Brisbane Broncos 2020
1. Jack Bird
2. Corey Oates
3. Kotoni Staggs
4. Darius Boyd
5. Xavier Coates
6. Anthony Milford
7. Brodie Croft
8. Tevita Pangai Jr
9. Andrew McCullough
10. Payne Haas
11. Alex Glenn (c)
12. David Fifita
13. Patrick Carrigan

14. Jake Turpin
15. Joe Ofahengaue
16. Thomas Flegler
17. Rhys Kennedy

I'm basing these numbers on priority and who will get a look in if Seibs is looking to make changes. If an injury forces his hand, I expect which ever player fills that role will jump into that position. I would not be shocked if there is an injury to a forward if Seibs will just draft in an extra back and play them as he did Perese.

In fact, I would knocked be shocked at all if Herbie pushes Kennedy out of the side and Oates is made to play the Hymel Hunt/Tyrell Fuimaono role off the bench.

18. Jamayne Isaako (cover for Bird/Coates)
19. Herbie Farnworth (cover for Oates)
20. Cory Paix (cover for Macca/Turpin)
21. Jesse Arthars (cover for Boyd/Staggs)
22. Tom Dearden (cover for Milf/Croft)
23. Richie Kennar (cover for Oates/Coates)
24. Jamil Hopoate (cover for forwards)

Injured
25. Jordan Kahu (Out till early rounds)
26. Matt Lodge (Out till mid-season)
27. Sean O'Sullivan (Out til mid-to-late season)
28. Keenan Palasia (Out for the season)

Suspended
29. Izaia Perese (Indefinite, will know more before Round 1, will be dismissed if found guilty)

Development
30. Ilikena Vudogo (Technically No. 30, but would most likely be behind Riki for consideration at this stage)
31. Fanitesi Niu
32. Ethan Bullemor
33. Jordan Riki
34. Pride Petterson-Robati
35. Tyson Gamble
36. Kobe Hetherington

I'd expect Niu/Bullemor/Riki to be named as a reserve before Round 16 and injuries being kind I expect all three to make their debuts this year. Petterson-Robati could spoil that and knock Riki off especially if Seibs wants a more solid middle.

I think Coates should start in ISC,he hasn’t played since August and I think more playing will help him.

I’ve maintained that Herbie is the more well rounded player at this stage. Coates will fluctuate wildly.

I think you’ll get a much more consistent performer from Herbie.

No, it means they both suck and we're a bottom 8 side.

Not really. All reports are saying Turpin is training the house down and really pushing for that 9 spot.

If Macca is doing better than him, it means he has realised he could very well lose his spot in the side and has taken his game to the level we wanted.

Being honest, i dont think Turpin is as good as everyone thinks he is, people are just so sick of Macca they want anyone but Macca. What Turps has got is he is a competitor.
Should have a crack at grant or maybe simpkin, if grant goes to the tigers.

Which would be great if he didn't only do it when his spot was under threat.

It's not too late for you Wolfie

Turpin saves

Remember when we were courting Smith? Played out of his skin and we thought he’d finally gone to the next level

I remember when he got player of the year in 2012 and 2017, who was gunning for his spot then?

1. Bird
2. Oates
3. Arthars
4. Staggs
5. Isaako
6. Milford
7. Croft
8. Haas
9. Turpin
10. TPJ
11. Glenn (c)
12. Fifita
13. Carrigan

14. Joe O
15. Kennedy
16. Bullemor/Hopoate
17. Flegler

If we were picking on form and not some other mystery bullshit, the side practically picks itself. TPJ replaces Bullemor on the bench as an impact player when Lodge returns.

Been hearing that phrase for about 8 years now. He doesn't have another level.

you're not in a position to make that judgement at this stage because you haven't seen Boyd or Macca player (and they were reportedly very good in Rocky).

while you may have an idea about Macca after seeing him play for the last decade (and the fact he has very rarely improved or dropped in form) ... you can't really about Boyd.

you can't base a decision on Boyd from his form in 2019 as started playing fullback then shift to be a stop gap at 5/8 ... both of them are very different roles to the left center role he would have this year
