OPINION Broncos are winning the 2023 NRL Premiership

Broncos: 10 wins, 4 losses, +89 differential
Storm: 7 wins, 6 losses, -1 differential
That loss by the Storm really helps our top 2 chances now. Melbourne still scheduled to play Penrith twice (they kill each other and we come out on top). Will be even better if the Dragons can do us a solid against the Panthers.

Broncos & Souths to then finish 1 and 2? (They have a pretty easy draw - and lots of byes left too).

There seems to be a pretty clear top three now but that said, Penrith are now going to be without Cleary for a while, so that will severely impact them. So yeah, us and Souths are looking the clear top two.

I think after today it is quite clear who is winning the 2023 premiership.... I'm sorry for the bad news guys
1 player out(sure it's Cleary but they had a backup Half on the bench) and they just beat the team coming last at home?

Why are you sorry if it's now clear that the Broncos are the ones who are winning it? Sounds like good news to me!
I had a vivid dream... Reynolds dropping the ball off the kick off and Captain Chad slotting the winning field goal for another premiership for the good guys. Unlucky bloke.

Given how compact the ladder is, I wouldn’t write off the Eels either.

They are a side that usually times their runs well and given they’re only 3 wins outside of the top 4, they could quite easily jump up the ladder in the run home to the finals. If they’re playing finals, they are a side that’s shown they are not to be taken lightly.
The team flying below the radar is Canberra.

Here is the table adjusted to reflect games completed, without byes:

Place, team, earned points, wins, losses, differential

1. Broncos: 20, 10, 4, 89
2. Souths: 18, 9, 5, 105
3. Panthers: 16, 8, 4, 147
4. Canberra: 16, 8, 5, -49

Yeah they've got the easiest draw so really they should be creeping up the ladder... they'll be cannon fodder in the finals though

Their wins include Brisbane, Cronulla, Parramatta and Souths, but they've turned in some real shockers too. Also bear in mind with comparisons like the pic above that 2022 top 8 sides (like Canberra), will by definition only have 7 (other) top 8 sides they can play, and also that the 2022 top 8 includes the Cowboys.

Any team that has to face us twice has a tough draw. And we're not counted in that top 8.

That's true, the teams they play twice are below

Broncos ... looking like a top 4/6 team, so tough match ups
Sharks... top 4/8 team, but their credentials are getting questioned after having a soft draw last year and another soft draw this year
Warriors ... looking like a top 8 team, probably top 6
Dolphins... 50/50 team in the 7-10 bracket

Bulldogs... looked like a bottom 8 team on the up preseason, but are looking bottom 4 at the moment
Dragons... bottom 4 team and one of these games is rd 19 without Bhunt
Knights... looking like a bottom 4 team
Tigers ... bottom 4 team

So they've got 4 of the favourites for the bottom 4, and 3x top 6/8 teams.

Other notables from last years top 8:
- They get souths once and it was in rd 13 so they got them without Latrell, Murray, Arrow and Graham (picked as 18th man, but injured anyway)
- Get Panthers once and it was at home, gives them an advantage in a tough match up
- Melbourne away, so actually a tough game, but got a perennial top 4 team once, which would be nice.
- Rorters once in rd 17, so after game 2 with Teddy backing up, good time to get a team that was considered to be a premiership favourite
- Parra at home, get the previous year's grand finalist once and it's at home, so they get both GF teams once and they're both in Canberra
- Cows were a top 4 team last year. They got them away, so a tough game, but did get them in round 1.

So overall they've got a pretty soft looking draw.
