We could go 7 from 7.

Eels, Rabbits and Manly games worry me - have to drop a couple of games there.

Round 11 Storm - that's a bogey game based on history and will be just before SOO.

Warriors game RD 13 we will be missing origin players. Warriors should beat us.

Sharks June 2nd - away game post SOO. I cant see us winning that.

So in conclusion you think we could go on a 7 game losing streak after our 7 game winning streak.

BHQ might literally implode if that happens

If we can beat Panthers at their home ground, we can eaaily beat the Eels, Manly and Souths.

Warriors and Sharks games are where the conspiracy theorists may come out (with a valid point). We play them both away, both without our origin players, and both off a bye...

It is big news, a struggling rival code has poached one of league’s biggest up and comers. And in the segment about the kid, they were hardly glowing. The called him the 7th or 8th best fullback in the NRL and that right now he is basically a winger. They were hardly going over the top about him.
Over hyped and over paid, wanted 600k a season before he could even play first grade and Souths told him to get fucked and he went to Roosters(wonder what that means).

He has played a little bit of fullback and it isn't like he has shocked the world or anything.

Meanwhile we got Walsh from warriors on 400k a season for a similar aged but much better player.

I will say though, Gus is right about we should just make him go now, for the next 2 seasons NRL will just be boosting his profile only for him to use that profile for another code, this just isn't good for business, especially with the World cup coming up which is in Australia, even though Rugby is more than likely dead in Australia why give the ***** oxygen at our expense?

Not that it matters long term anyway, next TV deal I think NRL will be beyond Rugby World wide on a financial standpoint.

i see us dropping 5 games over the origin/recovery period. Kev needs to have them focused on recovery and ramping up into the semis.

If we go on a 7 game losing streak, the forum will probably talk up our players.

Souths were willing to pay that figure, what they weren't willing to do was honour his Player Option clauses that would allow him to veto the contract whenever he wanted.

Sydney were, but not at that price.

I was confused by it as well and thought it was another 'culture' signings. Hey maybe it was to entice him to stick around, but it made more sense than the one story I heard where being offered less money was actually enticing to him.

He's an exciting prospect but I don't think he's quite broken through that 'great' threshold. He likely will when he inevitably makes his Origin debut but he's still in that prospect category for me.

Which makes sense, he's only 19, most players his age still have another year and a half of reserves before they'd be considered full-time NRL players.

Wouldn't it be ironic if we made a gf this year for the likes of Coates who tried to buy himself a premiership
I honestly hate Coates. In an interview literally a week before he signed with storm he was saying how much he loves the broncos and never wants to leave blah blah. Then. Signs with the storm.

Coates joined storm at the worst possible time imaginable lol. It's poetic really.
They're not even close to the powerhouse they once were and it'll get worse when Bellyache retires either this year or next.

They've looked shocking thus far. You can tell it's not the same storm from the past decade.

Yes they have injuries, but in the past they still performed "storm" like with whatever roster they had. Those days are over.
If they keep in current form they will struggle to make the 8. With all that being said I wouldn't be too surprised if they turned it around somewhat and finish 4th-6th. Still have an amazing roster despite everything.

Without Papenhuyzen they will struggle, if he can get back and play his best though, they'll be a contender again. They're very silent about his recovery, so it's either going well and he'll be a surprise selection, or it's terrible and they're organising retirement for him.

Knowing our luck, he'll probably return in round 11...
Even if he does return that week it might not be the worst thing,
Coming back from that long of a lay off and another long term injury I'd be shocked if he returned full of confidence, especially if storm as a whole aren't booming with the confidence they've had over the last decade, having such high standards for so long could add extra pressure on the group if they are just doing okay by round 10ish.

The Storm are badly missing their season vet forwards. They did a lot of the hard yards and always held their own to give the spine room to play with
