NEWS Broncos coach insists Milford best at No 1.

Big facts, even Locky's career as a whole is criminally underrated. Still irks me that Joey became an immortal at the 1st opportunity while Locky is still waiting. When the NRL media is dominated by NSW journos, it's hard for him to get the respect he deserves.

Locky is the best attacking fullback I've ever seen. All round I guess you could give Slater the title as best FB of the modern era, but for me, Locky was the best.

Young khunt was pretty handy as well at fullback.

He was one of the best 6’s already and was having to adapt regularly to different roles. He’s never going to displace ponga as the best 1 for Qld
I wouldn’t be against it! If Milf keeps improving Kevvie would be mad not to put Milf at the back with Ponga on wing like Turbo and Teddy.

Locky will be next, it’s ok. They need to rush through the old crew before the JT/Cam/Slater brigade arrive.

Although, to be fair, signing two contracts and claiming you didn’t know should be grounds for exclusion no matter how many games or trophies you won

Locky or Slater - it’s definitely an excellent conversation to have. Slater was just everywhere, he was probably the fittest athlete in Aussie sport at one stage.

To me, the best fullback I ever saw was Hodges, he doesn’t deserve to be in any discussion about it because he wasn’t there long enough but he could do what both Locky and Slater could do, his run of games there in 06 was just that good.

He was as good as Hayne in 09 in that period and Hayne was next level for that short period of time.

Yep ... would agree that Hayne in 09 was something off the charts. I don't think anyone has ever played that well over a season before or since.

Slater for sheer brilliant over a long period of time though - No. 1 fullback of all time.

Daylight, including Lockyer, second.

I'm afraid I can't agree that Slater was so far in front. Lockyer was truly brilliant as a fullback. If I had to choose one in front of the other it'd be Lockyer then Slater by a narrow margin.

Not a chance, Bellamy had so many plays based around Slater which made him get alot of attention. Locky made his plays from his own genius, he made his own room and made everyone around him look better. Billy had the best 9 , one of the best 7's and the best tactical coach ever to help him out. Not to take to much away from Slater because he is a great of the game and his longevity is a big credit to him , but locky was by far the best 1 I have seen.
