We finished 14th last year

This year we are in the 8 (should still finish here somewhere) and won more games than our past two years combined.

There is only so much improvement a team can do in one year
Just feels like we showed some glimpses but over the last month we’ve really dropped back to where we began. It’s disappointing.

We showed some glimpses tonight .. we just ran out of puff with so little possession.

TBF we've probably also run out of puff for the season (mentally). It's a long season, we have a young squad and Reyno can't do it all on his own.

Having so many involved in origin didn't help either.

This season will be a good learning curve for both Kevvie and the squad.

Our rookies aren’t ready for such a grind. As good as he is, Mam shouldn’t be in the side for as long as he has. Even guys like Riki would be exhausted

Nailed it. Our kids need to learn that this is why a strong preseason is so important. I also wouldn’t be surprised to see us turn it around a bit next week. This season is already a massive success and a bucket load of upside for next year too.

You're sticking your neck out a long, long way for 2023. Even DCE would be impressed.

Age doesn’t mean shit at this point, Penrith are younger, are they not?

Give. Me. A. Break.
Seriously these dudes need to sack up or **** off!

Half the team obviously lacks footy intelligence but they beat too their own drum, they’re FUCKING awesome, just ask their managers. (Or them) seemingly impervious too excepting the fact that they may not be that good.

our team has soooooo many good players we get 60 points out on us. Lol

There is literally no excuse, none, fucking nada!

I genuinely assume our new management has actually noticed that either A: the coaching for the last four years has been rubbish or B: our recruitment is just trash and they’re looking for the wrong things.

oh look Payne haas played so many minutes.!!!!! Whoopty fucking dooo the **** couldn’t hurt a kitten! Let’s ask for a million, ****. OFF!

Holy fucking Kevin with his awesome team selections for the last month, seemingly out of the fuxking blue that’s gone against what’s worked!

Yay

If we make it we are out in the first week. Does that still deem our season to be a success?

Yes.

Seasons gone by we were in the conversation in regards to what team will get the spoon.

It's been an improvement and I know fans on here won't settle for cusp of the 8 but it wasn't going to happen overnight, unfortunately.

In Bennett’s last year here we bowed out the first week of the finals by a heavy loss. Seibolds first year we bowed week one finals by a heavy loss. So if we have the same fate again this season, how does it compare to those seasons?

We're not comparing it to those seasons, why would we be? Is that even relevant?

I feel inclined to compare it to last season and the season before that.

I compare it because the way we’re playing reminds me of those seasons. Those dark days are meant to be behind us but the last month we’ve fallen back to those ways. We had a great winning streak but if we finish the season with a losing streak by big losses then have we really improved?

I think next week will be the biggest game for the club in a while, if we bounce back and beat Parra, most of us will have forgotten about the smashing last night. That will be it for mine because our days under Seibold and Kevvie's first year, we weren't bouncing back, we were getting smashed every week.

If we get smashed again, Kevvie will be getting plenty of heat put on him.

His team selection on Tuesday will be interesting. I’m sure it’ll be the same team that gets picked though.

There have been plenty of teams over the years that have made much more improvement in a single season after a very poor season the year prior.

Cowboys for example... Panthers another one. Bulldogs, Sharks, the list goes on.

It's just not a good excuse. It's what people say to make them feel better.
