The clubs use the integrity unit to do their dirty work.Maybe an unpopular decision but I actually think they got the penalty correct if you consider that the incident would have been a fine only if it wasn’t for the ‘Bronco’ loading which added the week to the tally.
We all moaned about how Munster and Cheese only got 1 week for the cocaine scandal but we failed to consider that their incident in isolation was a 3-4 week penalty but they got the ‘Storm’ discount of 2-3 weeks.
Same reason why Nelson got off for a swinging arm to the back of the head of an opponent. He got the 2-3 week ‘Storm’ discount. Teddy also got the ‘Rooster’ discount for the racial slur whilst Montoya got the ‘Warriors’ loading and is the reason why he is being sat down for 4 weeks.
To avoid hysteria in advance for the next off field incident, do the correct calculations using the following table
The NRL Integrity Unit Table
Play in a Storm/Roosters/Panthers jersey: 2-3 week discount for early plea
Play in a Eels/Rabbitohs/Sharks/Bulldogs/Sea Eagles/Tigers/Dragons/Knights: 1 week discount for early plea
Play in a Raiders/Titans/Cowboys jersey: 0 loading or discount
Play in a Broncos/Warriors jersey: Add 1-2 weeks loading
I tell you how you sound when you accuse the NRL of bias. Like guys who wind up in prison "because the system is rigged against them." Not because of anything they did.
The Broncos clearly want to be winners, not whingers. Let's take their lead.
