Broncos NYC 2015

Taylor and Jikorima were very good tonight. Collins was the best of our forwards from what I noticed. Drew nabbed a double but was defensively poor. Our back three caught a lot of bombs, many of them contested. Excluding the first 12 minutes the team looked very promising.

Maybe I just have huge expectations but I was a little disappointed in Jayden. There were a couple of times where he took the wrong option and just ran himself starving his outside men of quality ball. He still did plenty of good things but there was no mistaking who was the star of the show.

Like the rest of the pack, Collins started slow but eventually got into the game. I thought Arrow was the pick but Fai, Hipgrave and Collins all had their moments and they're crucial to the Broncos success as they basically play the same conservative style as the Broncos.

In fact, for those who miss out on the 20s that's basically how they play. They use a very similar gameplan as the NRL side, it's just executed by different players. Nikorima in the role of Milford is absolutely fun to watch against the defence he's up against. It's a shame they don't play a highlights reel during the pre-game or half-time or something because they're usually the best plays of the entire evening.

I'm starting to become a big fan of Pearson.

This is the first time I've seen him play and he looks like an absolute natural out there.

Mind you, when you've got Nikorima and Taylor inside you, you're bound to look good but he's played his part as well.

Pearson has speed to burn. Watched him run down the Parra winger. Also how good is Ash Taylor looking!

From what little I have seen, and from the lot I have read, Ash Taylor certainly looks the goods. Pity we won't get to see him in the top side except maybe when there are a few injuries, and in a few years, when he plays against us.

Agree on Nikorima, was not one of his better games but how slick did Taylor and Byrnes have our back line looking. I think you will find it was Byrnes who put Pearson in as he did again in the 2nd half. Drew is getting left behind in this backline.
Taylor has to fit into our top squad in the next two years, he is light years ahead of Hunt and Milford at reading the play and his defence is gradually improving but will always need protection.
Milford will have to play fullback with Hunt at 5/8.
BTW did I mention Taylor's kicking game is far superior to our first grade halves as well

From what I saw (which was only the second half, but every home game this year) Taylor is a terrible defender. Like probably only slightly better than Luke Brooks but definitely not up to first grade standard.

Welcome to the club mate! :takdir:

Have always wondered how they fit 5 little men into first grade. Unfortunately in my view one of the Nikorima brothers misses out. I don't particularly want Milford at fullback but it is the only way I see Taylor getting a run.
I have always liked Byrnes also which BP can attest to and I cannot see any way you could keep him out next year

Last night was disappointing, just because of that 15 minute period that they slept through. Guys worked hard after that. No injuries.

I'll accept the blame for that one. I walked in and said "Oh, we're flogging them". Then it all started.

Where's the missed tackles stat though?

I got those from a status on the NRL Facebook page.

It didn't include missed tackles.
