Broncos pair cautioned by police

*sigh* What don't they get? What don't they understand? If they want to carry on with sh** like that, they don't be a bloody football player! [icon_non
It's getting to a point where clubs are going to start banning alcohol, and maybe putting a curfew on players during the season! Which is a shame for those players who CAN handle themselves and probably enjoy a relaxing night out now and again, but I'm guessing those sorts of players are becoming less common.)

This is why you should never break the seal...

I saw a situation much like this happen to two blokes on Saturday night.

One needed to go for a piddle really bad, and no cabs would pick them up simply because they were blokes. They were not drunk from what I could gather and were actually wearing suits.

One bloke peed on a tree (without getting caught by cops.)

They then tried to catch a cab home again. One of them hopped into the front seat of the cab, tried to tell the cab driver the destination but he didn't want to drive there. The guy said he was going to take his number down and ask the company if he was allowed to refuse the service. The driver started to drive off with him hanging out the door, and then tried to push him out.
His mate kicked the side of the cab and yelled that he was recording it.

Who's in the wrong there?

FTR, we were trying to catch cabs ourselves so that's why we saw all of this. We had another taxi driver try to charge us $50 upfront for a $20 fare. He sped off when we tried to take his number down.
99% of Sydney cab drivers are grubs, and cause more trouble by acting like this.

Oh, welcome to Sydney!
Though of course its generally speaking, but trying to get a cab somewhere in the heart of the CBD in Sydney is generally tough between 3am-ish onwards, 1-2 you shouldn't have too much of a problem, but you can understand the cabbies, there are waaaaaaaaay too many drunks. They will go only certain areas, most likely near their home because they are ending their shift. Though it is illegal to refuse service because they don't want to go to a certain area, it happens ALL the time. I know I'm screwed after 3am because no cabbies want to go to my area.

The question is, do the guys actually hit the tree or wall?
Anecdotal evidence would say no.
I bet a pubic hair is left on the tree and wall though.

don't add anymore names! who cares what ages the players are, there is no point speculating on a nothing incident.

Nothing incident. LOL.

I'm all for letting our boys have a good time, but c'mon.... this is growing old. How hard is it to just stay out of trouble. Fucken idiots, whoever they are.

Exactly right.

How hard can it possibly be conduct yourself like a normal, civilised human being and still have a good time?

Couldn't care less about the severity of their actions, some of these footy players are very much challenged upstairs - especially ones who, pissed or not, feel the need to lay a boot into a car of all things.

I'm pretty skeptical about this boot into the car thing.. if he did i could imagine charges not a warning.

Big deal about Kenny too... there wouldn't be a bloke on here who hasn't taken a slash out on the street after a night out.

BRONCOS pair Steve Michaels and Nick Kenny won't be sacked or suspended under the club's new alcohol policy despite attracting police attention at the weekend.

NSW police said on Monday a 22-year-old man was told to "move on" after allegedly kicking the tyre of a passing car in Jonson Street, Byron Bay, around 12:40am on Sunday.

A 26-year-old man was given the same directive by police after urinating on a wall in Jonson street at 12:45am.

No charges were laid.

Broncos chief executive Cullen said the Superintendent for the Byron Bay area told him both men had complied with police directions and had been "co-operative, apologetic and remorseful."

Police said the 22-year old man was heavily intoxicated while the 26-year-old was "slightly affected" by alcohol.

Thanks Smithdom, It's a nothing incident and the only thing that is disgraceful is if they get punished by their employer for the incident. As you m1c, there's not one guy who hasn't at some point. I don't think any less of either of them.

What happens if Michaels kicks the moving car whilst "heavily intoxicated" and it runs his foot/leg over? Would you still think its a nothing incident. What Michaels did was incredibly careless and I would be disappointed if he goes completely unpunished. These boys should no better and all they have done is bring the game and the club more bad press.

It was probably just a walking a long kick sort of thing, i'm sure if it was an actual kick, he would of got more than simply being told to move along, I agree it's stupid, but in reality it's nothing, then again they are high profile and should be more careful, etc. I don't think they should be punished with money or missing games, just a lecture from the coach will do lol

Kenny should cop a fine and Michaels should be banished from the NRL. [icon_razz1

What is it with guys thinking "if you gotta go, you gotta go"? We're all adults, or at least toilet trained children. Ever heard of "holding it"?! Women have to, what makes men incapable of it?
This argument never works, I've tried to have this argument with many a bloke after the years. Men = Stupid.

Isn't this the worst beat up of beat ups of all time? [eusa_doh

Hang on, girls piss a million times more each day than blokes do. Every time a man wants to go somewhere, then end up waiting on a girl to shake the lettuce first.

Blokes tend to hold it in longer, and hence, when they need to go they NEED to go.

Why is it a beat up? They are high profile sports people who were caught urinating and kicking moving cars in public, whilst drinking by police, regardless of not being charged this is news worthy and until pea brained footballers realise this they will keep acting like children.

Usually when you are half-tanked, that is out of the question.

The fact is Broncospwn and others, a court isn't going to accept 'I couldn't hold it' or 'I was busting' as an excuse and neither should the Broncos. FFS! Adults know how to handle themselves with regards to this or they shouldn't drink, anyone on here condoning urinating in public needs there head read it is disgusting, and when you're someone who has people watching your every move it couldn't be any more idiotic.

Actually they do accept it. The bloke two people ahead of me when I went to court was there for pissing on a wall. he got fined. Woo.
