Pearce would likely be the one to go.
Pearce would likely be the one to go.
Not the sort of half we need.
I'm curious... what do you think a halfback's job is?I don't see any reason why Milford can't combine with Taylor well. Taylor isn't as much of a dominant half as Marshall.
The biggest concern is whether Taylor would be able to live up to the price tag. Two seasons in and he has shown very little improvement in all of the important aspects of a halfback's job.
This is about the time Hunt started to cop a lot of shit...

I can't remember, and your Hunt quote makes me wonder. We've had this discussion before. A few times, in fact.
Nothing like he was.. the whole team was nothing like it was. Milford was still good this season.I said the current Milford. He is pretty much nothing like he was back then.
Apparently the Broncos are yet to submit a contract to the NRL for Lodge..
Just get it fucking done already.

Hunt and Taylor are different players. Hunt is a running half (ie five-eighth/hooker) whereas Taylor is obviously a kicking halfback. To us, Taylor is worth the money because it's something we don't have.
Also, Hunt was copping it because a) he's older and had played probably 100 extra games than Taylor has after the 'two years in' mark and b) he was playing for our club and we wanted results.
I'm as forgiving as anyone when it comes to Hunt's three pointless seasons of riding the bench, but it was also up to him to improve his game, and that really didn't happen. He was untouchable in games here and there, but there's such a big difference between his good and bad days (which sometimes happen in the same game). As he's been quoted, he believes his skills are good enough, which is proof he won't be an elite player.
I'll qualify by saying I haven't watched a lot of Taylor's matches because Titans, but he's younger and has more complete all-round skills for a halfback and with that I imagine comes better game control and decision making, something we've sorely lacked since Lockyer.
The money, for mine, doesn't matter so long as he doesn't regress and we don't have any dumb releases making it happen
I put it down to coaching he became far more robotic and structured when comparing 2016 to his 2015 & 2014Hunt was copping it as well because he cant kick for shit and he dropped the ball in the GF. He had a stella year in 2015 winning a few games for us in GP and setting plays up for us to win, line breaks, try assist as he should being the halfback, but after 2015 he lost his touch i put that down to confidence and he lacked that after what happened in the GF.
