Now that Haas is being paid 500k a season..

Does that mean we'll have to offer TPJ and Su'a more? And David Fifita just as much?

Tyrone Roberts is apparently returning to Aus. For a cheap enough price does he provide a little of what we need next to Milf?

He's just another runner.

Those others may be ahead of Haas in terms of development, but will not have as high a ceiling. So no.

That's a bit harsh. All of them look like they have amazingly high ceilings. No one in the NRL had as high a ceiling as Dave Taylor when he was young but look how that went. Granted, these guys seem to have far better work ethics but even so, Fifita and TPJ especially look almost as promising as Haas.

Lets hope there's no Des Hasler style back ender contracts coming up.

We have better halves signed to the club currently. Would use Shaun Nona or Sam Scarlett before I bought Tyrone Roberts.

Only things that'd get him over the line with us would be his previous experience with Bennett and his relation to James Roberts.

How much have you seen of Scarlett and Nona? If you haven't witnessed each of them at least twenty times, then it's pretty hard to make your big statement. Nona couldn't make the Wynnum side earlier in the season and certainly won't be retained.

If Boyd and Oates go then who will our wingers be? I guess Pearson on one side but what about the other? Going off zerotackles dodgy contracts the only half-decent wingers on the market are Robert Jennings, Tyrone Phillips and George Jennings.
Kahu...

Bird to left center

I totally forgot about Kahu so that answers that but he will be in a bit of strife if there is an injury.
I think you're also forgetting about juniors currently coming through the grades...

There's no Toyota cup anymore so the youngens get to grow up and develop out of the spotlight.

It's like the good old days where a junior would debut and you had no idea who they were only to see them light it up.

I'm happy Toyota cup is dead primarily to hide our talent away from prying media eyes.

Tyrone Roberts is a second grade player, just like them. That's the point I was making. So I'd rather not waste money on him and just use a lesser known player that is cheaper and of same quality

Boyd at centre is something I've wanted all year. The left edge combination of Boyd and Oates will be as solid as any in the competition. Can see Milford and Boyd creating some tries there too.

Isaako is going to be great at the back. Will add everything that Boyd was lacking there. The only question marks are over Isaako's ball playing ability and his talk with the team. I think he'll do fine though.

Will be good not having to wait for him to run off the wing from the other side of the field after penalties just to find touch because milf is too unsure of himself.

The only concern i have with Isaako is his ball playing ability. Hopefully his time in first grade has improved him, but in ISC he wasnt a great ball player.

I agree with you point but to be honest unless your Kaylan Ponga, Matt Moylan a few years ago, or early career Lockyer (i.e
natural 5/8ths playing out of position), most fullback’s ball playing consists of a sweep and pass. Surely any professional
athlete outside of Dugan and Hoffman can learn how to do that to some passable degree.

To be honest, our halves have hardly mastered the skill of ball playing.. so can't be overly harsh on Isaako in that area to start off with. I think he has the skill and smarts to develop into a great ball player and fullback in general.
