I like oates but the players shouldnt even be doing interviews after the crap they talked then produced. I would want to know who my coach is as well, but I wouldnt be publicly saying “i wanna know and this is who i want” if i just stuffed up at my job. Would you? I mean that takes some real high levels of self importance and indifference towards your clubs results to be saying that so soon after that result. Its almost as if the weekend didnt happen to them.

I didnt factor in a loss from 28 years ago so I must be young? Lol. The fact you have to go back that far is a barometer for how abysmal the performance was. I did forget about 2009 but our defence was better then last week even in that game, and thats when we were coached by henjak, also this one was alot more embarrassing due to the form and favouritism compared to our opponent...

Far out, the sulk factor is getting old. No one would be more disappointed than the players themselves. The young ones in particular will be better for it.

Not do interviews? I bet my life you’d be calling them cowards and demanding they front up and answer the tough questions.

Sulk factor? Are you serious? Being pissed off about a terrible performance is sulking? I think youll find im one of the more positive posters about the team but going out with such an insipid performance 2 years in a row is passed the “they tried and they care” phase. The EFFORT was not there, thats what annoys me. 2 years in a row, in elimination games...

And no i wouldnt be haha. Have you seen my postinh history? Do i have a pattern of calling the players cowards? If they were playing next week i would want to hear from them. Just like last year and the year before and every year for 12 years i dont want to hear from them for a few weeks after they get knocked out, what could they possibly have to say thats so important that they couldnt have said via their performance on the field? Talk is cheap, the broncos have become talkers

No they won't. He is not a shit coach. Souths won their first premiership for nearly 40yrs under him. He also won Super League. Kevvie Walters on the other hand???.
Also if WB doesnt get his extension he could walk now. Where would that leave us for 2019. Hook? Walters? Hassler? Madge?

Btw, calling someone you have never met over the internet petulant (definition: unreasonable childish behaviour) would be more petulant then offering your views on a players media presence on a fan forum specifically designed for discussion about the players team, dont you think?

We might win a premiership with madge ... But in doing so he will burn our players out and we will spend the years that follow in the wilderness ... This will lead to his sacking after we have missed the finals several years in a row

Have you ever caught wind of their preseason routine? I can't imagine anything being harder than jogging up the steep hills at Canungra in 35 degree heat. If you study Bennett's history, you will realize that he is anything but soft. Leading this very youthful team along with some very key long term injuries to a 15-9 record may be one of his greatest achievements to date.

I don't rate kevie either , most coaches would of taken souths to that premiership. There's a reason he got punted.

I didn't call you petulant. I said comments such as that come across as petulant. That's how I see it.

I've already made my opinions known about the failings of this season. They spoke of attitude and working hard for each other because that's their mindset and that's what they were working towards. It's not the first time that reality didn't live up to expectation and it won't be the last. I stand by my assessment that with so many young players, particularly in the forwards, we were lacking in experience when things went bad (errors and stupid penalties). It's as simple as that. I didn't see a bad attitude out there. I saw fatigue and shellshock. I saw a bunch of players that were either struggling and unable to get out of the funk (eg, TPJ), trying way too hard and making things worse (eg, Sims), or simply having very little platform to work off (our entire 1-7).

Give him a 3yr contract. If he wins us a premiership who cares about a couple of wilderness years. Move on to the next coach. I would happily take that as opposed to no premiership in past 12yrs.

I was thinking along the same lines not long ago. The players appear to have been coddled for awhile (looking from the outside in obviously), where some of the mental aspects are brushed aside. Like Stuart's constant ramblings in losing press conferences where the players are trying but it's not showing on the field.

I would consider Hook to be a player's coach as well so potentially they've gone Bennett, Hook, Bennett.

Although all coaches have favourites that the fan can't understand there are also those that demand from their squad.

Bellamy being the most obvious, every player that has been under him talks of his blow ups, but would that style be accepted by every playing group. I feel he got lucky with a great no nonsense leadership group pushing the rest of the squad along Kearns, Geyer, Orford into Cam, Billy and Cooper... and now as a team they demand excellence with a "if you don't like it then leave" mentality. Mutiny has never been an issue with them, they will just cut a cancer out before it can spread.

Compare that to a Maguire who was punted from bunnies apparently due to player burn out. Jason Taylor punted due to player mutiny... Neil Henry seemingly along the same lines.

To me I feel a hard edge coach could lose the playing group at broncos because our leadership team is not strong enough to stand up and say the coach's way or the highway.

They've had it too easy for too long and grown comfortable, as has Wayne I think. The softness in the players attitudes and state of mind has led to their soft performances out on the field.

How the **** would you know ? Seriously some of the shit that gets said on here is just crap people make up in their heads ! We didn't win a premiership !!! Who the **** cares ! Get over it move on and best of luck next year .
