Laybutt is an average Qld Cup player. Chudleigh should be great but his knees are cooked.
Why when already have someone?
We could use some more depth in that department.
Macca goes down, we have Turpin but who else do we have? We were forced to use Thaiday, McGuire and Glenn at hooker this year.
In saying that, I think we could do better than Chudleigh.
I'd be having a look at Hugh Pratt from Redcliffe, who tbh has probably been better than Turpin for them. Harry Grant as well is another i'd have a pop at getting out of the Melbourne Storm. He is going to be stuck behind Cam Smith and Brandon Smith, might be worth a shot.
Cameron Cullen.
Could cover halves and hooker.
I think he's a great player
In all honesty Cullen would offer no more than Knik.
That’s a big call tbh. I like him, don’t get me wrong, he has an insane cut-out pass, but otherwise, I’m not so sure.
Time to blood in our youth halves - Tana Boyd Corey Paix and even Sean O'sullivan. The first two have so much hype, Boyd is a constant rep player QLD and Australia (good game managment kicking and running game). Has a great combination with Fifita dating to Keebra Park SHS.I wouldn't mind cullen on a base salary. I guess it depends on who gets left out for him though. I'd hate to see a repeat of the staggs situation with an up and comer missing out for him. He looks the dependable sort though. Still, I'd rather see a youngster blooded. Knik, SoS both look stronger in attack, though his defence would have to be better than knik (lets face it, the only player to compete with for missed tackles would be milford and his defence has improved this season).
Knik's gotten better too but has these brain-fades quite often, where he charges up into the line to cut off the attack and put himself in for an intercept. Its worked a few times, but it was always going to come unstuck at some stage and unfortunately, it was in a knockout final.
The halves defence is something that needs work in the pre-season.

Fifita went through the system at South Logan Magpies and got the call up due to injuries and we know how his turned out. Tanah led the Magpies with Fifita for the Maniga Under18s cup win and Aus vs NZ rep last year and has played 2 games for ISC for Magpies.Looks like DCE when he runs. I think it’s worth trialling SOS (obviously) and Tanah, and keeping the kids training with first grade. But these are still 18yo they’re playing against, so expectations need to stay tempered. I do hope that Wayne considers the depth halves seriously though. And depth hookers for that matter
People will say they need to get Qcup experience, and while that’s true, they’ll be in first grade sooner than later with all the retirements happening.

Really haven't seen much of Corey and SOS highlight, keep hearing SOS is the real deal but Roosters didn't fight to retain him[emoji57]
And Turpin needs more games, his a tackling machine with some speed could be our Cook version.....
Broncos will have a team to be reckoned with for the next 5yrs with the youth in our forward pack and halves.I was going to mention Fifita, and he’s had a fantastic year. He does need to back it up though, and I’m confident he can. But he’s a forward. He tackles and takes hit ups. That’s the minimum expectation.
