Isn't this the real Griffin:

1. Bird (He's fat, therefore powerful ala Barba)
2. Boyd (Just cos)
3. Gillett (he defends so...)
4. Kahu (he's gotta be in there somewhere right?)
5. McCullough (He's slow and low, often taking the wrong option but goodness me, he's likeable, so put him here)
6. Isaako (He's a winger, no ball-playing skills whatsoever but boy he wants to be fullback, so he goes here)
7. Milford (He plays as HB so just put the number on his back already)
8. McGuire (He belongs here, even Griff knows that)
9. Glenn (He has played there, so he must be good at it)
10. Sims (He would have stayed and he does 1% well, exactly what you need here)
11. Oates (Cos he wants to be here, so we play him where he wants)
12. Thaiday (He's still got it)
13. Parker (He's still got it)

14. KNik (Cos that's what you need at 14)
15. TPJ (He'll get ten minutes)
16. Carrigan (He'll get 5 minutes)
17. - (No need anyway)

Tbf I’m sure Parker does still got it.

The thing about Anthony Griffin is that he wasn't a mad man. He was more like the Ned Flanders of the NRL, a goody-two shoes who's favourite meal was bread with water for dipping on the side. Usually his line-ups consisted of a failed experiment, centres playing on wings, backrows playing in the forwards and a lot of QRL players landing NRL spots. Throw in perculiar captaincy choices, a fullback/centre moonlight as a five-eighth and no bad boys and you've got your team.

1. Anthony Milford
2. Tom Opacic
3. Moses Pangai
4. Kotoni Staggs
5. Gehamat Shibasaki
6. Jamayne Isaako
7. Sam Scarlett
8. Josh McGuire
9. Andrew McCullough (c)
10. Corey Oates
11. Alex Glenn (c)
12. Matt Gillett
13. Joe Ofahengaue

14. Todd Murphy
15. Patrick Mago
16. George Fai
17. Sam Tagataese

I want to do a Ricky Stuart's Broncos XVII because surely we have enough back-rowers now to fill out the centres and halves.

Oates would definitely be in the centres or 2nd row. TPJ would probably get a run at centre if the need arose.

Gillet can also play 5/8th if his neck isn’t what it used to be.

2. Oates (wants to play back row)
3. Glenn
4. Fifita
5. Thaiday
6. Staggs (plays backrow in lower grades on occasion)
7. Gillett
8. Savelio
9. McGuire
10. Ofahengue (has played back row)
11. Mago
12. Su'A
13. TPJ

not sure we have enough for a bench though :P

Hypothetically (I don’t think it will happen), IF Boyd followed Bennett and we didn’t have to pay any of his contract. Would any of you consider the off contract Hayne?

I could endure Mundine's time here more then him, that is saying something.

Did you see him play for the titans? Do you really want Hayne around mentoring the likes of tpj and Milford.

Sure they do:

14. Funaki
15. Tagataese (I'm sure he played second-row at some point)
16. McCullough (He played lock, does that count?)
17. Carrigan (I'm sure he filled in second-row at some point for someone)

Some of these have given me the best laugh I've had in ages. If we're going to pick up hayne, we may as well as go the whole way and sign Sandow and carney with him. There ya go, almost a complete spine.
Might have some trouble with discipline but imagine the party if we won! Actually don't...

Nah I don’t. I was just asking the question because I was curious of other’s opinions.

**** that shit. Send Hayne's career off to a slow death in England where it belongs.

Would be better off signing Barba after his 1 year at Cows.

Neither would ever happen.

This stuff about players only being at the Broncos because Wayne is here is starting to really annoy me.

No one person is or ever will be bigger than the Broncos club itself. If you're inside the club and think that you or someone else is bigger and better than the club, you should leave.

I have no problems with letting go of TPJ, Lodge and/or Roberts if they honestly feel that way.

Hoping they are their own men and do what they want. Also hoping that what they want is to stay.

Not going to be mad if they do go, I'm still excited about our other young guys who actually have come through our system, unlike the three I mentioned.

If Wayne left with those three next year, I think we'd still be fine with the players we have (ignoring the fact that it would free up cap)

Assuming Boyd stays

1. Darius Boyd
2. Corey Oates
3. Jack Bird
4. Kotoni Staggs
5. Jamayne Isaako
6. Anthony Milford
7. Sean O'Sullivan
8. Joe Ofahengaue
9. Andrew McCullough
10. Payne Haas
11. Jaydn Su'a
12. Matt Gillett
13. Josh McGuire

15. David Fifita
16. Patrick Carrigan
17. George Fai

18. Thomas Flegler
19. Tanah Boyd
20. Gehemat Shibasaki

To me that side looks pretty good. Room to make decent signings too.

I disagree about nobody being bigger than the club. Jordan was bigger than the Bulls, Lebron is bigger than whatever team he signs for, Gretzky was bigger than the LA Kings, Tiger Woods was bigger than golf, Dwayne Johnson is bigger than the WWE, Wayne Bennett is the Broncos. He is the reason for our success. He brought in those players in the 90s that won so many premierships and that success created a great club. Anyone with this much pull in the game, who could sign almost anywhere he wanted over his career and tear us apart if he wanted to and basically do whatever he wanted with the media is bigger than the club. There was probably more articles about him this year than there was about the club. Remember what we were without him?

I guess that is an argument more about the meaning of bigger than the club but I still disagree that we will be better without him. I'd love to be proven wrong on this. The board still have a lot to be answered for and if we fail with Seibold they need to be sacked too. I'm willing to give Seibold a go and I am excited to see what he can do. I do think Wayne should leave now that his priorities are elsewhere and he will lose all of my respect if he takes any of our players. But that's just me being selfish and loyal to the club. I just wish our board had our best interest at heart. It does seem like White wants his mates at the club

then i guess the board were in a no-win situation as, if they re-signed Bennett and he continued to win nothing with us, then there would also be calls for their heads.

It does seem like White wants his mates at the club

you mean like the 30 year friendship he has had with Bennett
