because he isn't worth 800k ... especially to us.

maybe if he was a dynamic hooker or a game managing half, but he isn't any of those things. he doesn't offer us anything that we can't get from Bird (who is on slightly less than 800k).

If we are happy to pay Milford 1mill, Darius 750k bird 800k then Gutho is an absolute steal at 800k. Offers much more then what the above are currently offering or have offered in the past 12 months.

Bird to fullback I don’t see happening, and if you can’t see that gutho would outplay Darius in absolutely every area of the fullback position Id be very surprised.

it will be a massive waste of money ...

if he gets 800k, he should immediately go and buy a lotto ticket, because he is the luckiest guy in rugby league ... I reckon he is in for a shock when he struggles to get 800k from any quality side

Provided the child is not sick: my mother's advice was simple.

As a single Dad she told me to get some headphones, turn the lights out bar one reading lamp in the lounge room, put on some music and chill. She told me it was perfectly fine for a kid to cry themselves to sleep. She also said that if I keep trying to console and mollify my child I'd end up exhausted and that would be bad for the child and myself in the long run.

The child ALWAYS thinks they're missing out if there's tv's going, music banging or people loudly communicating so the best way is peace and quiet and the chikd quickly learns nothings happening and they chill the **** out. Be a tougher version as a parent, it won't change the love but it will be better for parent and child overall.

Yeah mate. I don’t think you’ll find too many that wouldn’t prefer Gutho than Boyd but considering our cap position, the length of current contracts, and our most concerning issues, Gutho isn’t what we most need.

Been wondering about our depth across all positions and thought I'd take a stab at dividing up the top 30 across the positions to see where we're short and where we're surplus.

Fullbacks: Boyd, Isaako, Kodi, Milf, Bird, Niu (dev squad), TBoyd (dev squad, suggested a while back that the club may look at him as FB, but unsure how that's going)
Wings: Oates, Isaako, Kennar, Perese, Farnsworth (dev squad)
Centres: Roberts, Bird, Boyd, Staggs, Shibasaki, Perese
Halves: Milf, Kodi, SOS, Dearden, Dargan, Bird, TBoyd (dev squad), Paix (dev squad)
Hooker: Macca, Kodi, Turpin, Paix (dev squad)
Props: Lodge, TPJ, Offa, Haas, Carrigan, Flegler, Mago, Fensom, Taga, Fai
2nd Row: Gillett, Glenn, Fifita, Sua, Staggs, TPJ
Locks: TPJ, Offa, Carrigan, Bird, Fensom

From the above it would appear:
- Short on legitimate wingers
- Short on established halfbacks, but junior talent coming through
- Short on depth and talent at hooker
- Surplus of forwards, but if we lose TPJ we lose depth at all forward positions ie if we lose TPJ and Glenn we're down to 3-4 legitimate 2nd row and 2 locks. Still surplus in props

Most pressing is hooker unless Knik and Paix can be successfully converted over an off season. Wing depth looks an issue as well.

We're kind of going all or nothing on the young halves especially Deardon. Although I really like the look of Tanah Boyd, granted I haven't seen much of him, but he just has that look of solid all round halfback.

All in all I'd say the club is banking on youth and going to the market now would possibly hinder those pathways.

They need to make a decision on the middles, I'd have Offa at a lower priority given he wants $500k and hasn't really shown up this year. I would consider TPJ a bigger priority.

Of Offa, Taga, Fensom, Fai and Mago. I'd look to let Offa and Fai go. The rest would remain as back up on cheapish contracts.

I just have one question. (this is for anyone)
Assuming no player leaves, is released etc. how much money do we have left in our cap right now? I know its unlikely anyone here knows for sure but an estimate will do.
That has to be a determining factor in who we can chase.
