Smokin just did, his word is as good as an official announcement.

I believe. I just meant somewhere other than a fan forum. It's been a shitty mess, Milford better tear it up from here on.

he was wrong about jnik..... just kidding he's usually pretty reliable, but as always, THINGS CHANGE BRO

Guys like Fai and Ese'ese are different types of players ... these are the guys that will make plenty of meters for you and give good impact if coming off the bench.

Arrow is your work horse player. he will play big minutes, with a high work rate and good defensively. he also will provide plenty of opportunities for our support runners as he has a good offload on him.

Good points. I just don't see a spot for him in the starting pack and I don't think he is a great bench player...

I'm not ready to give up on Jai, he's not the type of player who's going to take 7 runs and get you 110 metres like Herman, he's the James Graham type who has the motor to make 16 runs for 150 metres and still have enough on the tank to make big defensive plays.

I still believe we'd be in a better spot to start him at lock and move McGuire back to prop with Ese'ese, Pangai, Thaiday & Sims providing us with the best bench in the comp when fully fit.

Be interesting what the forward pack looks like if Lodge comes into the side next year.

I agree with you that I don't think McGuire provides us with something at lock that he doesn't at prop.

He is a hard worker and gets busy, but I don't think he can break a game open there. Mind you McGuire does do a lot of 1% stuff that probably helps us stiffen up the middle, but it's not as noticeable as big runs or offloads that split open the lines.

I'm pretty sure i'm not alone on this one though. I know @Sproj definitely agrees with me.

Yep I definitely do. I want him as our starting lock and McGuire back in the front row. Arrow is one of those rare gems that come along every so often who you just know are going to be the goods. He is not an impact forward but he has a huge motor, very strong defensively and has an excellent offload in him. He is also a leader and will keep putting his hand up when everyone else is starting to fall over or give up. He would be a big loss.

In many ways, to me he is a reverse Gillett in that Gillett started out as an attacking gun who became a defensive stalwart. Arrow started as a defensive gun who has been continually adding more and more to his attack, not just the fantastic offload he already has.

I didn't rate Ese'ese at all last year and look how he is going now. Arrow will be the same for a few of you guys if he gets a starting shot at some point I'm sure.

NRL: Three clubs chasing Warriors rookie Ata Hingano

The Warriors have lost Kieran Foran and now face a fight to keep rookie five-eighth Ata Hingano with three rival NRL clubs chasing his signature.
With Foran's end of year transfer to the Canterbury Bulldogs confirmed, the Warriors are weighing up whether to invest in homegrown talent or go to the market and recruit a more experienced playmaker to slot in alongside halfback Shaun Johnson.
Melbourne Storm, the North Queensland Cowboys and the Brisbane Broncos are all interested in luring Hingano across the Tasman.
The 20-year-old is desperate to stay in Auckland but is prepared to move to Australia if he can find a better first grade opportunity.
"If I can I'd love to stay in Auckland," said Hingano. "My life is settled here but if it means moving to get that opportunity to play consistent first grade elsewhere, I'd likely look to move."

Hingano's manager Peter Brown is due to meet with the Warriors today to discuss what role they see him having beyond this season.
Melbourne have been interested in Hingano for several months but find themselves in a similar position to the Warriors, as they consider whether to go for youth or experience in finding a replacement for departing halfback Cooper Cronk.

The Storm also have Junior Kangaroos captain Brodie Croft on their books while another promising playmaker Ryley Jacks is currently off-contract.
"Melbourne and North Queensland have enquired about him and I've had a discussion with the Broncos as well," said Hingano's manager Peter Brown.

"He's still got an option at Melbourne but they've got to weigh up what they want, whether they want someone like him or whether they want an established half straight away."
Hingano has impressed in five NRL matches since debuting against the Cowboys late last season and looked confident through the first three rounds this year before Foran took ownership of the No6 jersey.
The Tongan international is willing to bide his time at the Warriors and play out the rest of this season in the second tier Intrust Super Premiership but is seeking assurances that he will feature regularly in the NRL next year.
The Warriors are undecided about whether to promote Hingano long-term from next season or whether the side would be better served by a more seasoned playmaker.
"There's a few options that we want to consider," said Warriors recruitment and development manager Tony Iro. "Do we go down the path of a rookie and develop them or do we look for someone experienced to take over? That's the conversation we'll be having over the next few days."
Foran has been impressed by his understudy's skill, ability and work ethic and has no doubts Hingano is ready to take the step-up fulltime.
"Ata's an immense talent and I think he's shown that," said Foran. "His skill level is up there with Shaun's and he's got a great ability to play the game and he works really hard on his game.
"So there's no doubt in my mind that if the Warriors look to him to take over that number six role next year he'll be able to fill the job."

Arrow is under-rated. He's excellent off the field and is that Dallas Johnson guy on the field. He will always find a spot. He is the only guy I have ever heard of that forced his way into senior rep side from 18th man just based on his attitude and effort all week.

Unless Thaiday and Blair retire at the end of the 2017, next year the coaching team are going to have a hard job picking the forward pack each week.

Blair, McGuire, Sims, Ese'ese, Fai, Glenn, Gillett, Thaiday, Arrow, Pangai, Su'a and possibly Lodge need to fit into 9 spots, 8 if we go with a bench utility. We'll have a killer bench, with some quality players missing out altogether.

The latest in the Danny O'twiddle rumour mill is that a mid season trade will see Jai Arrow, Joe Offa and Adam Blair dealt to the Titans for Ash Taylor and a third round draft pick. He is dead serious and actually has people falling for it.
