The latest in the Danny O'twiddle rumour mill is that a mid season trade will see Jai Arrow, Joe Offa and Adam Blair dealt to the Titans for Ash Taylor and a third round draft pick. He is dead serious and actually has people falling for it.

Unless Thaiday and Blair retire at the end of the 2017, next year the coaching team are going to have a hard job picking the forward pack each week.

Blair, McGuire, Sims, Ese'ese, Fai, Glenn, Gillett, Thaiday, Arrow, Pangai, Su'a and possibly Lodge need to fit into 9 spots, 8 if we go with a bench utility. We'll have a killer bench, with some quality players missing out altogether.

Works for us, good competition for spots. End of 2018 Blair and Thaiday will be phased out and I'd imagine Glenn will start to take a backseat role - depends on who wants to stick around and who chases coin/opportunities elsewhere.

I still think Lock will go to Bird tbh. I rate Arrow, i think he was every bit as good as PAngai and Herman when he was coming off the bench tbh, just not as spectacular. Would hate to lose him, but if we manager to snare Lodge, we have some work to do fitting in all our younger forwards.

Still think one of our older forwards will retire at the end of this season. I'm still not convinced Roberts will be here at this moment in time either.

By the sounds of it, I doubt he would want to venture too far away from his family at all. If we give him a path and a solid offer we should keep him.

MELBOURNE have continued their raid on Brisbane’s playing ranks by signing one of Queensland’s most promising young forwards to a $450,000 deal.
The Storm may have missed out on Anthony Milford but they have struck a blow at junior level by poaching boom Queensland under-18s back-rower Tino Fa’asuamaleui.
The Gympie product was highly-rated by the Broncos but the club’s signing of Australian Schoolboys star Payne Haas last year opened the door for rivals to snare Fa’asuamaleaui.
The 17-year-old was blown away by Melbourne’s professionalism. The club flew him down to inspect their set up and they won the Broncos teenager over with a slick video presentation of the Storm culture built by coach Craig Bellamy.
The Storm have secured Fa’asuamaleaui for three years and hope the junior rep star will eventually progress to their NRL squad.
