Broncos Player Movement and Rumours 2020

Basically says he’s in no hurry to sign, a few quotes from him, it’s a business these days etc. Then quotes from mum including that he won’t go overseas, Sydney would be no good for him, Brisbane is good for him etc.

Said that the Broncos helping him in Bali was what they had to do and what any club would do essentially. He comes across as very arrogant and incredibly ungrateful in general.

Honestly this has been my gut feel of him for a while now....hell of a talented player, but is he the right personality fit for the team?

CM posted an article regarding Fifita.
I cannot read it however the title seems to indicate that Fifita isn't a lock to re-sign with the Broncos.
More then likely just click bait but if someone can read the article and post a summary that would be handy.

Badel had a hand in this article and was magically able to tie it into the article he wrote a few days ago ...

so basically a few days ago he wrote how the Titans would use their signing of Fa'asuamaleaui from the Storm as their "secret weapon" to lure Fifita down the M1, since Fifita is really good mates with Fa'asuamaleaui.

then today he quotes Fifita's mum pretty much saying that Brisbane is home and Dave has no intentions of leaving QLD

Badel must have forgotten that Fifita and Haas are best mates.

He didn't forget ... it just won't get as many clicks, as saying that a team as bad as the Titans are a chance at signing the hottest free agent in the league, would

I’ll be honest, I’m sick of Fifita. Great player yes but I think he is rubbish for the culture here. No player is bigger than the club but he thinks he is.

Tend to agree BFL but he is an incredibly talented player, if they let him go to that players' graveyard down the M1 I think I'm pretty much done ... although I do have a 2020 season pass ... hmmm ... I'll need to think about this some more.

If Fifita mucks around too much I'd be happy to pick up Frizell with his money.
If hes looking to sign for only 2 years with an eye to cashing in on a second Brisbane team then IMO Frizell adds more value. Just as talented, ultra competitive and adds that experience we lack atm.

The other person who would be a handy pick up if we were to lose Fifita at the end of the year would be Ardie Savea.

Probably the best flanker in union, and potentially looking to switch to a powerhouse NRL team next year.

True that.... not much good in being the highest paid player in a bottom 8 team (if he were to go with Titans)

Ponga poaching: Knights fear Broncos more than All Blacks

Knights CEO when asked about the All-Blacks potentially poaching Ponga -

"I think they're (Broncos) a bigger threat to be honest with you rather than the All Blacks," Gardner said.

"This All Blacks thing might be real, it might not be real. I don't really know.

"But certainly you look at who the big club is with the money that they can splash out on him, certainly the Broncos would be a club.

"That's why we'd like to get a deal done sooner rather than later. If he goes to the open market it will be a harder deal for us.

"I've always said publicly, I think KP will take less money to stay here. I think he's happy, I think the family's happy here.

Ponga comes across to me as a seriously competitive kid. He wants to win premierships, and he won't be doing that at the Knights anytime soon. It's a valuable bargaining chip.

"Look Kalyn, we're offering you a million dollars a year to play behind the best pack in the game. Use your brain, man."

The knights have put together a really good squad, and if they do a manage to sign Frizell then I think they’re squad isn’t that far off of ours for overall rating.

I think a lot of their squad has basically peaked outside of Ponga

Spine
1. Ponga
6. Apparently this Phoenix guy??? But is he just another Jaelen Feeney... alternatives Watson, Mann and Lino, all guys who can't nail down a spot.
7. Pearce... over 30 and on huge salary. How long can he last
9. Jayden Brailey - personally I like him... to me his service from DH is very good, but sharks never seem to use their hooker in attack so it's tough to get a gauge on his talent level. In saying that will he become a world beater at hooker

Klemmer solid workhorse, but isn't really a difference maker on his own like a Haas, Tapau, TPJ, AFB, etc.

Guerra (past it), Barnett (can't seem to lock down a spot), Saifiti bros (Daniel looks good, but Jacob not so much), Glasby (peaked), Fitzgibbon (I think he's overachieving with the talent that he's got), Herman (can't seem to lock down a spot), Sione (peaked).

Outside backs (??? Moga, Shiba, Hymel Hunt, Edrick Lee)... hardly any standouts amongst them. They had that Tex in the nines, but he looked a bit small to me from memory.... nd I believe they have that Bradman Best who is apparently very promising, but to me he looks to be a center only (ie. can't eventually transition to the spine and get his hands on the ball)... I haven't really seen much of him though

That's pretty much it for them... if they lost Ponga that's well and truly in the bottom 8

Should we choose not to re sign bird, Milf, Macca and Boyd we should have a fair bit of cash to go after KP. I think the biggest factor for KP is his family. The knights have looked after his family very well in Newcastle, they got his old man a good job and they‘re very settled.
But just imagine KP alongside Croft, fifi, haas, TPJ, lodge, turps, staggs the list goes on..
