Don't think you've got this quite right. I'd say of all the forwards to play 80 that might be Glenn. .
But who knows at this point
I dont think thats going to be our bench for the whole year, and i dont think Joffa and Carrigan will both be bench players either. One or the other will start at lock unless something dramatic changes. We have been running TPJ on an edge for a reason. The only wild card i see is Paix. They may decide to throw him in at the deep end, but my gut feeling is they will see how he goes for Redcliffe first.
Also with Niu, Bird has been running at fullback at times in training so i have a feeling he could even be behind Jack there now as well. I dont really see Seibs running with a player like him at 14, he doesnt offer enough and Seibold hasnt really gone with players like that anyway in the past. Would take a big shift in his mentality for it to happen on a regular basis. Of course, if one of these younger guys makes a massive impression in the trials or we get an injury or somebody plays really badly, things could change.
I still see our side for 2020 as
1 Issako
2 Oates
3 Bird
4 Staggs
5 Boyd
6 Milford
7 Croft
8 Lodge
9 Turpin
10 Haas
11 Glenn
12 TPJ
13 Joffa
14 Macca
15 Flegler
16 Fifita
17 Carrigan
Seibold has used players like Izaia Perese off the bench in the past. Not often though.
He was a big fan of a back on the bench when he was at souffs. He spoke about doing it at the broncos last pre season too, quoted some stats on amount of times a back is injured.Seibold has used players like Izaia Perese off the bench in the past. Not often though.
You really think Fifita can play 80mins every week??Not sure why he'd be the only forward playing 80 when he's objectively our least impactful forward. Captaincy or not, Fifita needs 80 every single week.
All the more reason Staggs will play from the bench to start the yearHe was a big fan of a back on the bench when he was at souffs. He spoke about doing it at the broncos last pre season too, quoted some stats on amount of times a back is injured.
But I think mcculloughs deficiencies outweighed his desire/risk need for an outside back.

What do people think about playing Carrigan in the second row with Glenn? I think he could do well there. Then have Fifita off the bench to play some edge or middle depending on the game.
I think people have been predicting Glenn's decline for 5+ years without it actually materialising. Last year everyone thought Su'a was going to take his job. There's no way he's not in our best 17 as we only have 2 and a half edge backrowers in our entire squad this year. TPJ isn't going to take Glenn's spot because A) His sliding defence was trash last year B) He still has a major role to play in the middle and C) We only have 2 and a half edge backrowers. Last year we used 5 guys on the edge. The year before we used 6. Injury and suspension are realities and with TPJ only one spot away from playing edge back row in a fully available team there is very little reason to create an off field story by dumping your newly minted captain to force a change that will likely occur organically anyway.Call me a conspiracy theorist, but I think Glenn will be captain off the bench with Pangai and Fifita starting. Then Glenn comes on maybe 30 in and plays the rest of the game out across the park.
With all due respect, there's a reason he was unsigned at the end of last year. He's the right choice as captain but still not sure he's the right choice anywhere in the team.
Hoppa just isnt good enough anywhere else but lock, he was a disaster in the back row for the Phins, and even then when you look at how Seibold picked players last year he would be lucky to be 5th choice as a lock.
It wont be popular, but i think its more than likely going to be Macca.

Staggs doesWhen Seibold does it is more robust running backs that could fill multiple positions in the backline. Niu doesn't fit that yet.
His attack was a high standard all last year and his consistency was high I thought he was better in attack than 2018. His defence let him down though. He's certainly not a hooker.
Staggs does
Glen only got an extension because there was no viable alternative captain. Well, in my opinion at least.Call me a conspiracy theorist, but I think Glenn will be captain off the bench with Pangai and Fifita starting.
