Could be more that he wants to be with his family... having a deal in Brisbane, or anywhere really, would allow his family to relocate to one spot.

At present he's stuck in oz, but he can't relocate his family for what could be weeks or months... having a long term deal somewhere provides security and certainty of knowing where he will be.

About the only teams that can't offer that at the moment are NZ and Storm (but even storm will be allowed to head back to Melbourne eventually).

Good point! I was wondering why they spoke about the Blues. Throw the chequebook at him!!

Edit: Oh, the Blues are a kiwi team. Shows how much I know or care about rugby union

Kyle Flanagan is signed at the Roosters until the end of next season but there are already rumblings the no.7 may look elsewhere beyond this season.

Thoughts BHQers? Is he someone worth pursuing? Flangan/Deadern combo doesn't sound awful. He'd bring us an awesome goal kicker but I haven't paid too much attention to the Roosters to really keep an eye on him.

He doesn't really do much in my mind... pretty basic kicker, not much running game, haven't seen much of a passing game. Seems solid in defence and can kick goals.

I think he's just a stop gap until Walker comes in

It would be sensational. However, he's only moderately talented in my opinion. What would be sensational is his Dad coming with him!!!
 
You certainly wouldn't want to be paying him big dollars on the rest of the contract after the first year tho.
