Id say the only way we will let Hunt go is if he gets a offered absolute crazy dollars from another team. If we offer something reasonable I think he will stay.

He'd already previously been offered bigger offers and supposedly better opportunities, and chose the Broncos. So long as our offer is satisfactory, he'll stay.

Absolutely this...he has signed 2 contracts over the past 3 or so years with us, biding his time behind Wallace, Prince, etc, just waiting for his opportunity. And boy, he's taken it with both hands this season, it's been great to watch. If we offer decent coin, he will stay. Just make it happen FFS...

I don't think he would have been offered much more than what we offered last year. Back then he had about 8 or so scattered games in the halves over the years and they were all below par.
This time we know other teams will be throwing a lot more money at him.

If Granville truly is gone, we should be blooding someone off the bench, like what Raiders have done with Cornish occasionally. I'd happily have Taylor in the 14 and just come on for a couple of small bursts to give McCullough some rest and Hoffman some time out of Five-Eighth.

That's true. My comment was actually a sly dig at the fact that all others are at the club and between them they only occupy 1 halves spot. Because, you know, Josh fucking Hoffman.

Isn't what people have been complaining about re: Ben Hunt? that he was utilised on the bench out of position. Doesn't make sense to me.

Hunt was used there for years which was wrong, Lockyer came off the bench for a bit. As did Barba and Thurston.

Come off the bench in their actual position. Ie Cornish etc. Not out of position. No way he could play hooker. He would be smashed to pieces by forwards. He is tiny and no where near physically ready to have men running at him.

Makes sense for him, gets to stay in NSW (Which his gf wants), and gets to pair up with the future NSW spine of Hayne & Peats, with a reasonable supporting cast (Hopoate, Radradra, etc)

never thought I'd say it but reckon we'd be nuts to get into a bidding war for DCE now ... laying out $1.2million or thereabouts would be a bad call when we've got a #7 who is getting better by the minute.
