It's hard to know where to actually play Tesi, I don't particularly rate him at fullback, I think he looked at his best in attack when playing at centre but yeah his defense was pretty terrible.
I thought Milford was a bit like that too. I couldn't think of anywhere he'd suit. That however is based entirely on the lazy **** version of Milford. At his committed best he might be able to hold down a halves position. I think Tesi is kind of similar and I wonder, given his build if he ever played in the halves, hooker type roles.

I think Niu will struggle to truly cement himself as a first grader. His defence in the front line is putrid, and he has way too many brain fades at fullback. He has talent with ball in hand and his footwork is really good, but I have doubts on him ever being a true first grader.

Kobe isn't a hooker.
Niu was horrendous at centre defensively, Lee, Herbie and Isaako better options there.
James isn't good enough to start, much better options available.
Carrigan is a prop.
Regardless of what you think Kobe is, he would serve us well starting at 9.

Niu may have been horrendous in his first games in the NRL... As are many other rookies.. I say we give him another chance to improve on his defence at centre.. If he's losing us games then we just bring in Brenko Lee.

Hey, I'm not the one that signed Ryan James! I didn't want him. But we've signed him now and I believe we should start him. He's an experienced prop that will get our games off to a solid start.

Carrigan is a lock or prop.. Doesn't matter unless you have some revolutionary game plan in store (How'd that work out for us with Bird and Asiata?) You can start a game with 3 props in the middle of the field and then bring on a more mobile player when fatigue sets in to the game.

People need to give up on this. It's not happening.

He's not a hooker and when you see him play big minutes there you'll see why. The options we already have are better.
Where did I say Kobe should play big minutes at 9? I said he should be replaced by Paix after 15 - 25 mins.

Turpin is a meme. Paix is better as a bench hooker for now.

What part of Kobe have you seen that says he would be better than Turpin, or even Paix at 9? He isn't a better defender than Turpin, so you believe he will offer the spark in attack that Turpin hasn't? And is he better than Paix because of his defence? If so, that brings us back to the Turpin comparison.

You want Niu to fix his defence in the NRL? Why not put him in ISC, and then promote him once it's no longer disgusting, especially when you're not selecting a bloke like Brenko.

Out of the top 8 this year, you could say 2 of them played the old school 3rd prop at 13, and they finished 7th and 8th. Even the Knights used Watson for majority of minutes at 13. All the teams 1-6 had a mobile ball playing 13 for the majority of the season.

We're joking if we don't start him at right centre.

Lets get him through a whole season playing consistently with no injury at centre before we start experimenting with him..
That's where I expect him to start, and you can fill most of the other positions with some degree of similar expectation but none are a cert.

Well as I said before, I think it's the best way to get the best 17 in the line up every week.

I also think yes his defence will be good but I believe his COMPOSURE is something that is underrated by everyone. I think he could be very solid for us.

Niu - Obviously he would have to perform well in the pre season and if I were coach I'd be making sure his defence is worked on.. If he lets us down at centre to start the year then we have ready made replacements. The reason I would start Niu ahead of Brenko is that I don't care about making Brenko happy and keeping him at the club, he's expendable. I care about keeping Niu happy and at the club.

I've never been a fan of Watson at 13.. I think he's just a great player that's able to play anywhere on the field. I think Watson is a better 9 (Which we may see him play next year at Roosters)(They have Victor Radley at 13)

I think the small 13 thing is just a phase.

I think it's safe to assume McInnes will go back to being a 9 and Finucane will be the Sharks 13. This would be very similar to Kobe at 9 and Carrigan at 13.

I've also said Kobe can shift to 13 during the game and likewise for Carrigan shifting to prop.

It's mostly personal preference for how the coach wants the team to play. This is just my preference.

Just a little reminder of how opinions can change.... This was a mainstream opinion..

Well to be fair his performances were pretty class for a bloke who had the fitness of a centre and had never had a pre season training at fullback. Additionally he is 19. Pretty good for 19 if you ask me. We don’t have to many players in our team that could win us a game and he managed to do that a number of times with some great performances

Is latrell really that good of a fullback though… I think he should be a centre… Two years running he has had a rookie fill in his spot come the end of the season and do just as well as he did… I think the side is way better balanced with him at centre

So you believe Kobe is a superior player, not a superior hooker. So picking him at hooker is purely because he is an overall better player? I think that's a really flawed way of picking a side.

And you are worried about making Tesi Niu, who is lucky to be in first grade, happy? You're willing to select an inferior side just to keep a kid happy who arguably shouldn't be in the side? That is such a weak minded way of looking at things.

"well this guy should be in reserve grade, but I think we should pick him anyway just in case it upsets him and he wants to leave the club in 2024"

Sharks have been pretty open in saying McInnes has been signed to play 13, I belive McInnes even said he knows he is playing lock, as they have Brailey. Finucane will play prop when he is fit.

Isaako "won us some games" at fullback too.

I was off Nui as Fullback but looking at the team I think he's our best option for a balanced team because Selwyn more than proved himself as a centre and Herbie has to be in the side somewhere so he slots in that wing spot because he can play his exact same game he plays as winger or centre.
Nui has some things to work on but a full pre season at 1 and stability in the halves will do him good.
Herbie and Cobbo can play centre, wing or fullback. Nui id only be playing at fullback.

Yeah I really don't think Latrell has proven himself at fullback and proved the doubters wrong. I don't think he has the fitness and the mental capacity to really excel at the role consistently.

For mine, he is and always will be more suited for centre.
