I hope those suggesting we target gagai watched the game tonight. His defence was woeful and definitely not worth his asking price.

Capewell looked a lot better being back at 2nd row. 100m+ and approx 40 tackles. He will be a good addition next year.

disagree about Gagai, against that backline and with hopeless defenders either side of him I Would say he did pretty good considering. Besides it is all his extra efforts and 1% plays that make him a valuable commodity to a side like ours

I think the series has definetly shown he should not be given a 3 year deal though. 2 years maybe, 1 year obviously would be perfect but would never happen..

And Roosters / Titans / Warriors poaching offer in 3…2…1…

Gagai is a hard no from me, age is one thing, and he was the third grubbiest player on the park last night after Munster and Mitchell. The kind of BS penalty magnet that will kill off the young kids if they are winning a game and then he gives up a stupid penalty because he wants to prove he's still got the biggest feet on the park.

I think the pot has gone cold on Gagai - last month they were hunting around seeing what offers were from other clubs.

Going through his insta he certainly thinks he is the part
Might seem petty, but I’d be ditching the pink head gear.

As cool as it looks, if you’re a gun attacking player that defenders worry about, the last thing you need is a bright pink beacon on your head identifying, at a super quick glance, exactly where you are on the field at all times.

Never having seen the kid before that video and not knowing who to look for amongst 20 odd other kids I’d never seen play, as soon as I identified he wore that, it wasn’t hard to find him in any of the clips (attack or defence). He stands out like dogs balls.

Black, white. Pretty much any other colour that isn’t fluorescent.

Gee Capewell's ball security was off the richter scale. On a number of occasions the roaches tried to knock it free as he was falling in the tackle and he held it every time. I hope he is able to pass that on to the rest of the team as needless turnovers are a bit of a issue with us at present.

I hope so, I've gone cold on him too, I don't think we need him to be honest with Cobbo and Niu's emergence, Lee coming on board, Herbie and Staggs all capable of playing centre / fullback in some cases.

I’d say more than handy. I’m sure he’s good mates with Haas. Would love to see them two as our starting front row. He was the outstanding forward for Qld in the series for mine.
Mo would be a great pick up and to get one from the Titans would hit the spot. Their reckless spending has to catch up with them sooner than later and he’s available for negations 1st November. He would stiffen up the pack.

If we're after a cheap utility option i think Broncos should look at Lachlan Lewis rather than Billy Walters. Sounds like he's getting shafted from the 'dogs.
He hasn't had much of a chance this year due to injury, but i like his defence and kicking game and I'm sure he'd come cheap.

He played Souths MM- Broncos' feeder no one wanted him. Titans took a train and trial deal with him and getting great rewards. He's a great story.

He lived in Ipswich near Haas.

Interested on your opinions of Junior Ratuva mate. Thought he might be a great option for the Storm when he was there with how big he is and how they kick. He's got a good strike rate in ISC but i'd say we probably need to see him playing a bit more regularly to get a better read on him.

He's had an odd career, when the Thunderbolts were in the Colts he was picking up tries like no man's business. Then Storm seemed to go cold on him and he he played his first game of ISC last week in three years. I watched the Dolphins game and he was alright but he's got a lot of work to do.

That being the case maybe the price is in our ballpark. Although others would see the potential. Kurt and Mo in the second row has some appeal.

Origin thoughts:

Fotuaika was arguably QLD's best forward this series and would be a great pickup. He's not exactly high profile so doubt it would cost that much, and to steal him from the Titans who miss out because they are busy paying Fifita a fortune to be no more than average would be especially sweet.

I think Gagai's best days are behind him - he is still solid and has plenty to offer, but its more in terms of experience and culture than what he can actually produce on the field. I would take him at the right price but I'm pretty sure he would want too much. I'd rather let our young outside backs develop than overpay for Gags.

When is Hunt off contract? He is a fantastic 9 and would be worth a serious look there in my opinion until Mozer is ready for first grade. Obviously on a contract nowhere near what he's currently on and only if he can make peace with the fact that he's much better at dummy half than he will ever be at halfback.

Ponga still strikes me as someone whose first priority is himself, and not playing good footy or helping his team win. He seems to have that Alex Glenn 'its just a game' attitude and like he'd rather be dancing on TikTok than doing extras to improve his game... BUT.. he's such a freakish talent that it would be pure stupiditiy of the Broncos not to be chasing him HARD. He's a QLDer with the potential to be anything, I'd be paying him 1.2m a year and then paying Billy Slater whatever he wanted to come up here and coach him permanently.

Really glad Capewell is coming next year, what a player he is... all heart and determination. Even in the final minute of the match when the other QLD forwards were going backwards taking soft hit ups and trying to milk the clock with slow PTB's, Capwell took a final hard run to put the nail in the coffin - not content with just running out the clock, he was still playing in the 80th minute with the intensity of the 1st minute and that's exactly what we need.

He seemed a little ponderous for the Phins but the couple of times i saw him in the colts he looked a lot quicker and sharper.
