Lol

His best games have been from the bench because that's where most of his games have been from.. The bench.

How is labelling him as only a bench forward respectful? I don't think being one is a negative. I just don't see the point in labelling such a young dynamic talent only a bench forward. I also don't really know why he's the go to guy to drop from the bench the day before a game.

He has way higher potential than Carrigan and if we had to choose one to keep out of the two I'd be choosing Bullemor.

The amount of shuffling around of the line up Kev has done, it would only be fair to give Bullemor a shot at starting.

I think if we started him, and kept him there to develop.. He will do just that.. develop.. And he will be great.

But... maybe another club will do that with him and we can just watch and weep.

There is nothing wrong with being an effective bench player. Its not disrespectful at all and its a very valuable role in any team. Players who can offer quality bench impact are worth their weight in gold. And you label players for what they are at a particular moment in time. Ethan has got to force his way into being a starter but playing to a consistently high level coming off the bench. He isnt there yet. And why do you think his best games have come off the bench? Its because his form hasnt warranted him being a starter.

Realistically, at prop, he isnt as good as Haas. He isnt as good as Carrigan. You love your stats, look at what those 2 put out last year and so far this year ( mainly for Haas as the goat has been injured ), they have the consistency and quality ( despite Pats slow start this year ) in their games despite them being over worked. You look at our other middle forward options nothing really stands out. Flegler is erratic, Kennedy is reasonably reliable abliet with the odd error. The rest are young players like Bullemor, Willison etc who will be fighting it out with another solid performer in Jensen for a spot as a middle forward.

We need a lock. We are weak in that position in the modern game. Carrigan is a prop. He's just been put there because he is a prop who can play lock. Robati is probably the option i'd take there quite honestly if we cant bring in someone suitable, but i fear they are going to leave Pat there sadly. Bullemor isnt a ball playing lock imo, he's a really threatening and fast ball runner, which coming off the bench with the game as it is now is just such a huge weapon to have. HE could be a massive game changer.

Tangent, but…

Was never really a fan of Jake Shields but then happened to literally run into him in NYC.

Super nice dude, shorter than I thought and when I put my hand on his shoulder for a photo, he felt like he was made of concrete.

Those BJJ dudes are just a different sort of strong. Don’t normally look massive (of course some are crazy jacked), but just insanely strong.

End tangent.

It's the same with footy players sometimes, I remember walking past Ben Hannant and being shocked how short he was in real life.

Then other times its the opposite, I met Evander Holyfield once and the bloke is a MONSTER. Same with Petero, he bumped into me at Suncorp at Magic round a few years ago and spilled a bit of my beer, I told him it was fine but he insisted on going to the bar and getting me another one and one for himself and he had a chat with me while we drank it. Then he shook my hand when he left and seriously I think he wrapped his entire hand around mine it was ENORMOUS.

Bullemor is the perfect player to be playing that bench role.. we've got Payne Haas so really all bull needs to do is provide 15-30 minute stint and with his leg speed with much more fatigued defence he fits the mould to be Paynes tag team partner and provide impact.
Yes he may have more potential than Carrigan but Carrigan provides consistency you know every week what your going to be getting and that's what you want from majority of your starting forward pack and your benchys are the ones that provide that punch.
Its similar with how you work your hookers you dont want your quick running hooker starting against a fresh team then throw a defensive hooker on for 30mins when everyone's tired.
Its a case of horses for courses

I ran into Brad Thorn a couple of years ago, i think it was when we played the Doggies and that bloke is just like a walking tree trunk.

Remember one year in one of the casino’s in Vegas this giant of a man was walking towards me and then I realised it was evander Holyfield. Plus he looked really angry that day so I ducked for cover.

So according to Badel.

Jesse Arthars has re-signed for 2 years. contract has been registered by the NRL, although not announced by the club yet

Mowed Josh McGuire's lawn once and it surprised me that he wasn't that big and same with Thaiday when I've seen him round Samford.
Met Mick Hancock and Alfie at the ekka when I was a kid and I heard something about mick running to the blindside so it always amazed me how good he was because I thought he was blind til I understood what a blindside was

Daily Telegraph reporting that the Broncos are one of 3 clubs to enquire in to Tom Starling.

He's contracted until the end of 2022 at the Raiders, but has a clause in his contract to get out after this season if he wants.

That would be a phenomenal signing.

Hey, you won’t get any arguments form me. He’s a great player and I’ve been calling for his extension for a while now. I really hope he stays. If there are limited spots it’s hard to select him over Piakura, Willison, Riki, or even Robati. He’s better than most of them now but I’m not sure that will remain the case.

I hope he stays. He’s perfect for 30 minutes off the bench.
I’ve been one of Bully’s biggest supporters but if you look at all the talent in the forwards he is probably the one of the forwards with the lowest ceiling. That being said, I’d much prefer keep Bully than Palasia or Jensen.
Disagree, I think Bullemor has a huge ceiling, absolutely see him playing origin. This is why other clubs are trying to get him, Raiders last year and now Manly, also union were chasing him. If I had to choose at the moment, I'd definitely keep him ahead of Riki and Robati. I haven't seen enough of Piakura, and Willison is tough especially just doing his ACL.

Its all about how we develop him. If we throw him into the starting 13 now, i think he will fall flat on his face. If we consistently give him 25-30 mins a game where he can have some big impact, we can bring him on at a better rate.

The development is something i've been thinking about. Not suggesting it necessarily with Bullemor ( although i do think he would thrive with what i'm suggesting ), but i do wonder if a loan system where we send a player to Superleague for 12 months wouldn't benefit some players who may not be quite ready for NRL but maybe have got all they can from ISC.

I think in the current game he is absolutely perfect off the bench. His speed through the middle could be brutal if used with the right tactics. I agree with you 100% on this. I'd be using him at the same time as a relief hooker if Turpin is our starting 9. Brining on lets say a Bullemor and Levi/Paix after about 30mins could be extremely effective up the middle.

Article online now stating Manly are keen to sign Bullemor
