No, what you're thinking is evidenced by your words. It isn't necessary to know your thoughts because you've presented them. You reject my writings not because they are necessarily wrong but because you disagree. It seems strange that nine or ten thousand have liked what I've written but you, you can only ignore everything. Need to see inside your head, nope. Anyone that close minded isn't much of a thinker.
I reject your writings because they are mostly shit.
In your case - it's a pity close minds don't come with closed mouths. Take a rest champ.

If he wants a available why are we not actually talking to Hodgson??
Because we shouldn't be offering him 800k like the Tigers will to get him to the club. On the otherside of 30 and the club should really be focusing on landing Smith or Grant if they really want to go all in on an elite hooker.

It is not as simple as that

hopefully Turpin could go down the road to Titans.

mozer is coming through and would have a great 2 year apprenticeship under Hodgson

although great players, I think you will find we are building to having Mamm and Mozer in 2023

I'm not convinced Brandon Smith is an elite hooker, he's an elite player but I wouldn't say he's an elite hooker. He plays about 20-30 minutes a game at hooker until Harry Grant comes on, I just can't buy into him being an elite hooker.

He could very well be one of those blokes who goes to water outside of the Melbourne system, everything he does is raw effort.

I personally think Hodgson is in heavy decline and coughing up spine money for him would be a giant mistake.
Totally agree you'd be better off giving Cam Smith or even a guy like Ennis a call to come in and give the speciality training/mentoring to the hookers we currently have.
Steve and Kerrod could work to some degree but I think they'd be abit old school.

I think Paix might really have a break out season in 2022.

I hope we further extend Mozer and don’t rush to him into first grade full time until he’s 20 or so. If we manage him correctly he’ll be the #9 version of Ponga. Very marketable.

So he seems to be more focused on tackle technique rather than defensive structures (or he may also do that, just not clear from the above).

I’ve got no issue with that. Let’s focus on mastering a proper tackle technique before worrying about structures. That will go a long way towards improving our defence if we can learn the wrestle and get players on their backs.

Absolutely agree. Unless we get Grant, I'm more than happy to run with Paix as first choice next year, he came on so much in Q Cup this year!

reports have come out that even though we re-signed Cobbo to a new 2 year deal in May (locking him up until the end of 2023), we'll be commencing talks with his management in the next fortnight looking to lock him up on a "lucrative upgrade" and keep him out of reach of the Dolphins

Cobbo's management says:

“The Broncos are very keen to extend Selwyn,” said Tas Bartlett of PSM.

“I will be sitting down with Brisbane over the next fortnight to see their position long term.

“Hopefully a long-term deal can be worked out.

“It makes sense as Selwyn is a once-in-a-generation player and he has massive upside.”

Asked if joining Brisbane’s new second franchise has appeal, Bartlett said: “Being a local team, the Dolphins will be an option for sure.

“Cobbo just wants to be the best player he can be in the best environment.

“The Broncos have a proven track record which is hard to compete with.”

Ben Ikin says:

“Selwyn is absolutely one of those players that we hope chooses us,” Ikin said.

“We’d like to think we can keep all our players and that’s the job of myself, Dave Donaghy and Kevvie (Walters, coach) ... to build a footy program that players and staff want to be part of.

“Cobbo will end up playing very similar football to Greg Inglis and Latrell Mitchell.

“I can see representative football ahead for him and he could be versatile in the way that Latrell Mitchell is a fullback at club level and a centre in the Origin arena.

“Selwyn is capable of handling both centre and fullback.

“He is a great young talent. He has so much natural ability and is very young in his career. He hasn’t done a full NRL pre-season yet, but the young man I know at the moment is very calm, composed and level headed.

“He was the first Indigenous school captain at Murgon State High in their 87-year history, so clearly Selwyn has some leadership qualities as well.”

Great news! We need to target who our key planks for the future are and sign them up good and proper - Cobbo, Mozer, etc.

Smart move! A deal similar to the Payne Haas one could work out well in 2-4 years time if Selwyn keeps on progressing how he is.
I don't think we would loose him but locking him up for the long term is what we should do before the vultures have a chance to swoop in.

I reckon if we lock up the spine players of Mozer, Cobbo, Mam and maybe even Jye Gray. Lock them up for the next little while (Cobbo and Mozer probably even longer) and we won’t have to worry too much. We have a lot of good quality forward options already so if we do lose some youngsters coming through we can live with that. Only other player I’d be looking at giving a longer term contract is define Mariner as he is supposed to be a freak… better than Mozer so that’s saying something

I haven't seen a lot of Mariner but what I have seen, he is the closest thing to Hodges since...Hodges.

What's the need for the abuse? were you born in '09? is that what this is? you prepubescent little punk.

I was commenting on him as he was the player being talked about, I don't give half a shit about the Tigers, I just know he made next to no effort on a tackle that led to the try that won Souths the game. 1st minute or 80th minute (or any other minute in golden point for that matter), it wasn't NRL standard and if one of our players did that I would be ropeable as a fan, it was a pathetic attempt at a tackle that he had to at least make an effort at making.

He didn't, it decided the game, "gronk".
What about the others that fell off after him you dipshit

The bummer about the new Dolphins is that it will impact our signings over the next year. I was looking forward to November as I think we are still about 3 signings shy of a top class team and was optimistic about some of the options available. However it will be hard to compete with a new team that will be desperate to put together a first grade side and it will be hard to compete with Wayne and the excitement of joining a new club. Especially as we haven’t had the chance to put some good form together to attract talent.

Players who’s main priority was being in Brisbane now have a second and potentially more appealing option. I think we were a really good chance of getting Welch for 2023 but now I struggle to think why he’d join us over the Dolphins. Same could be said for Smith and Manu.

I think it’s bad timing for us as 2023 would’ve really seen us bounce back and had good options in the player market to round out the team.

Welch and a hooker would’ve really made us competitive.

I don't think any of them really are misses, although Welch would have been nice. I still think we should be throwing the bank at Grant only.

****, bit rough calling him a plank.
