It’s been a loooong 6 month wait for the season to start and now that we’re less than a week away for our 1st game, I should’ve been pumped and excited. On the contrary, I am depressed & saddened that the old fox is cannibalising us purposefully so that the blow torch won’t be on any of his shitty squad.
I only want us to have a fast and steady start with more W’s. When we face the shit side, we must smash them left, right and center.

for the same money fleggs would be getting offered you could make a competitive offer for nelson asofa- solomona,didnt think the bromwich brothers would leave the storm so if the offer was right i think you might be able to coax him north.
there are actually a few decent off contract forwards this year you could even chase just a hard worker like liam knight for half the money.

Agreed so it is vital the club doesn’t let it drag out. Get a decision known from him one way or the other early so that if he does leave then we’ve got time to look around before other players are snapped up.
Also have to remember that the Roosters have a bunch of plodders off contract and they’ll need to be replaced by superstars of course as well.

If we lose Flegler - and just about every transfer rumour this summer has been off the mark in some major way - it will be because the other club is paying him too much. Same reason we lost Herbie. Probably.

It’s a no brainer for Herbie really.
He will have the best shot at being the face of the club, will have a decent shot at fullback or at least his preferred position in the backs, will earn more money, will be coached by the greatest coach of all time, and will have some very experienced players to learn from. Gets to be a big fish in a small pond, no pun intended

Needs and deserves a massive upgrade... 4-5yr deal at $750k-$800k.
He's the leader of our forward pack and we need to reward him as a sign to the other players that the hardwork and fulfilling on potential leads to a payday at the club.

As in $1m or the $800-$900k that Payne is currently on??
I'm not sure Patty is a million dollar player as yet... but I'd say he's closer than Payne to being one.

The rumoured 800k for flegler is ridiculous. That is top tier/elite prop level, which flegler simply is not. He has a bit of footwork at the line, but no offload, not great at ball play before the line, his play the ball is a little quicker than average but not special and does not make exceptional metres.
I dont find him exceptionally aggressive or an enforcer either (he does a lot of jersey grabbing, not putting the opposition on their arse with his shoulders).
People's suggestion of reaching out to fifita is not terrible. Robati is gone, i would not be offering piakura the 400k he is currently on. I would remind fifita that he played his best football at the Broncos. I think riki would give the middle a crack, he has the frame to put on another 5 kg of muscle to make a good middle forward weight and he is not trying to catch balls at the line all the time so he may be able to hold on to the ball
