They might not have a choice. They are in a very tight cap space with a lot of guys locked up a long time.

Well he is off-contract. This isn’t even a me wanting him to sign with us thing, I just can’t see how he is in a position in his career where he could resign with them. Taumalolo, Hess, McLean, Nanai, Neame, Luki, Leilua, Taunua-Brown, Gosiewski, Finefeuaki and I’m sure some others have all been consistently picked before him. He will be 22 before the end of the season, he isn’t really at an age where you can ask him to bide his time anymore with chances at other clubs.

I think he looks the goods as a footy fan I’d be pretty disappointed if he resigned with them cause I can’t see them playing him. Even if it was to go to someone else he is an NRL quality player that has a **** tonne of heart. Can genuinely see origin footy in the coming few years if he took a chance at another club. Fingers crossed it’s us he comes to, but if not, fingers crossed he leaves for both his sake and footy’s sake.

They've got 13 players off contract at the end of this year, including McLean, JTB and Tamou.

There's a whole bunch of deadwood in there as well with Elliott, Hampton, Shiba, Gosiewski, Hiku and Granville (although I see him going around again).

Price won't be looking for a $500k deal... it's basically his first NRL contract, so he'll probably sign on for near minimum wage and a couple years until he settles into first grade.

I'd love for us to go after a player like him, because he sounds like a no frills all heart kind of player... like Kobe and Patty.

Those kind of players are what you need to fill out a forward pack because they don't usually break the bank to keep them.
 
Have heard Price will go to whoever offers the best deal between the Broncs, Phins or Newcastle, I believe his family is in SE Qld so get it done Broncs.

In news which will surprise no-one, apparently things are rotten in Townsville. Have heard rumours of blaming the interchange players for their form (hence chopping and changing every other week) and Payten refusing to change things that everyone can see aren't working. Sounds like he's lost the dressing room tbh and looks that way on the paddock too. Such a sha..ah..ahh....aahahahaha!!

It’s Townsville, I’d fucking hate my life too.
 
If jordan Maclean would come to Brisbane for <$500,000 for 2 years he'd be EXACTLY what we need. Not the best player but he'd compliment haas and carrigan perfectly I reckon. Experience, good defensively, and most importantly he stays on his feet for quick PTBs.

I dont mind him tbh, but i dont think he is off contract until 2025. I think he would do a solid job. He's pretty reliable in what he does a bit like Jensen.

In the NRL contracts he's there until end of 2025, so they must've re-signed him recently... but he's a pretty decent clone of Flegler tbh
 
With all this talk of Flegler clones perhaps we should have done more to keep him. I know in the end it was probably a money thing but there’s always ways and means. I would have preferred to keep him.
