Broncos Roster, Signings and Rumours Discussion 2023

Fatima Kdouh in the Telegraph rating each club's halves stocks. She sure has her finger on the pulse up north:

BRONCOS: "Rating: B"

"Veteran Adam Reynolds wants to extend his deal beyond season 2024, giving Brisbane security. But the Broncos need a succession plan. Jock Madden is on the books and has shown he can competently cover. Long term, Will Parslow, a product of the Broncos Academy, is an option, but is playing at fullback for feeder club Wynnum Manly with Jordan Davies at No.7."
"Target: With immediate depth not a concern, the club must shore up its future and Broncos junior Sam Walker (2025) could be the answer. With some uncertainty over his future at the Roosters, Walker shapes as a suitable successor to Reynolds."

interesting his style of play would probably go well with how we are playing with mam and walsh atm

If you mean Walker, I see the talent but we've always had the better of him.

DCE, Munster, Ponga, Jahrome Hughes, Hynes, Hunt, Luai, Cleary on the other hand. Always a handful.

It seems like he's trying to beat the June 30 deadline.
He has something lined up of he's willing to pay 150k of his own money to make it happen

Not June 30 any more .
August 8 I think is the new date .

those guys are seasoned vets walker is still only 21 think he would go well eventually with mam and walsh
pie in the sky stuff though lol

Lodge given permission to leave immediately.

I predicted the NRL`s ambassador to New York would be out of a job in the near future .
I was told I was wrong as he was a top shelf front rower . Well apparently not ...

You are correct, it's the first Monday of August .
Even better if we decide to have a crack at Hunt. Gives us a bit more time to work it out.
It's a fools hope to be sure but wouldn't it be good for him to come home and erase that 2015 memory.

Ben is copping far too much hate for this. Not here, but elsewhere. Sure, there might be a contract, but that means shit all when you're dealing with a toxic AF POS workplace that has hired a cheater as a coach. This isn't new.

Club officials didn't even show up to his 300 game celebration dinner.

Hopefully Ben gets his release and carves up wherever he goes (just not against us ha).

No more than Payne did when he tried the same with us...

And the Dragons didn't become dysfunctional or "toxic" over night ... they were already that when he signed a new contract

I think we'd be stupid not to be having a go at Sam Walker. There's clearly issues with the Roosters and that door must be open a crack. Everyone thought we were a slim outside chance to lure Reynolds away from Sydney too.

He might not be interested or there may be underlying issues, but we should be trying anyway.

Not convinced he is or is even going to be a superstar, but he has shown potential, is a Brisbane junior, has family links to the club and is one of very few young legitimate 7s, which we desperately need with Reynolds coming to the end of his career.

I wouldn't be selling the farm for him, but he's exactly the type of young, future planning development piece we should be targetting to slot into the team when ARey moves on. We're building a young, dynamic spine and we badly need that last missing piece (assuming Mozer is as good as advertised)

That is a completely fucked date.

1 month out from finals is far too close to allow possible cherry picking of players from teams that cant make finals.

This competition is completely farcical under the current admin... basically need asterisks for every year since 2020

I haven't seen any sort of long kicking game from him and some players never learn that shit, just look at Kodi Nikorima.

Joe McDermott - is this a good thing? (for those “in the know”)

Since Ben Hunt signed his extension with the Dragons the following has happened:
- Dragons Chairman writes letter in support of a pedo.
- Club leaders do not show to his 300 game dinner.
- Club loses it's sponsor of 40 years.
- Coach sacked.

They became a lot more toxic since September 22.

Payne received a fair bit of 'fair enough, go get your bag, son' from the majority of the NRL community. His hate was all from the Broncos.

Hunt is getting piled on by most of the NRL community, simpleton journalists inclusive. The Dragons are the basket case here.

Literally only the last one of those mattered to Hunt
