Broncos Roster, Signings and Rumours Discussion 2023

If Brad Schneider kills it in Super League we need to pounce.

100% agreed, I'll be watching Hull KR with great interest. Him or Lam are the ones I'm looking at for Reynolds' replacement with Trindall in there as well.

Hull were going really well then they got hit hard with injuries to key players like Bachelor, Adbull, Hall and the retirement of Coote. Brad should help them out a lot as Abdull was about the form 7 in the comp before he got injured.

Apparently Hunt will be available again 😆 😆 😆. At this point in time given the rollercoaster the Dragons HQ is, they could change their mind post origin.

It wouldn't surprise me if he does.

They weren't actually going to force him to honour his contract until the end of 2025. That was NEVER going to happen. They're just playing hardball to get a good deal for themselves so they at least come out of it with something.

I reckon they might try to sort out a swap deal for either Tino or Fifita.

Brad Schneider is a very very good player, I was extremely impressed by his work at the Raiders. Do you even know who he is?

I know exactly who he is. And I know exactly where he stands among the games young halves.

There's better out there. There's a very specific skill set we need for our next halfback.

There's only one young half we should be targeting to be our next halfback and he used to be at the club until Seibold fucked it up.

There's a very specific skill set we need for our next halfback and he's got it, he just needs a good mentor to unlock it. Who better than Reyno?

Schneider's biggest strengths, we already have it.

Yeah who?

What's Schneiders biggest strengths and how do we already have it?

That young halfback: Stan Walkman

Thought the "used to be at the club until Seibold fucked it up" was a pretty big giveaway. Sam Walker.

Schneider's your attacking flair style of half, he's a runner with ball-playing skills, and a good goal kicker. We have that in Ezra (minus the goal-kicking) and he's only going to get better.

Walker has a much higher ceiling than Schneider.

Seibold fucked up many things.

He's an attacking minded playmaker, with organising capabilities.

Walker is a newborn calf, and average

Sailor Commits to Broncos for Another Two Years

Emerging outside back Tristan Sailor has committed to another two seasons with the Brisbane Broncos.

The 25-year-old with seven NRL appearances has signed an extension that will upgrade him from a Development Contract to Brisbane’s NRL Squad for the 2024 and 2025 seasons.

Sailor debuted for the Broncos with a standout performance in the Round 13 win over the Warriors in Napier, including one of the tackles of the year to deny a try, then followed up with another polished effort at the Gabba in Saturday night’s win over Redcliffe.

In his two NRL games this year, Sailor has averaged 105 running metres as well as two try assists and a line break assist.

He has also been prolific at Hostplus Cup level for Broncos Affiliate Souths Logan Magpies in the No.1 jersey – running for a huge 203 metres per game as well as racking up 11 try assists, nine line break assists, five line breaks, four tries, 38 tackle breaks and 16 offloads.
I’m very excited to stay here – the club has stood by me and been very good to me, so I'd like to repay the favour.
Tristan Sailor
"I had a long hard think but at the Broncos the environment is so good and I think we're building a really good team and culture here at the club.

"The Broncos is such a prestigious club in its own right and then to be building our own legacy together is so awesome to filter it down through the generations.”

Broncos Coach Kevin Walters said, “Tristan has been really impressive since joining us at the start of the preseason, he is a real footballer and he has worked hard and now he is reaping the rewards for that dedication.

“He has been playing some fantastic footy in Cup and then he has stepped up when we have called on him in first grade and done a great job for his team.

“He brings a lot off the field as well around the group and I’m sure his dad (Wendell) and all his family will be filled with pride that he is continuing on their legacy here at the Broncos – it’s just a really good news story.”

I thought this was already official but at least it is now.

Happy about this but not so sure about the “polished performance” at the Gabba.
