Broncos Roster, Signings and Rumours Discussion 2025

Broncos enforcer Xavier Willison is reportedly set to shun NRL rivals and commit his future to Brisbane with an extension.

Willison is one of the best props hitting the open market as of November 1, with a number of clubs willing to at least double his $250,000 salary.

However, The Daily Telegraph's Michaarayannis said on SEN radio that Willison is set to stay at the Broncos.

“I think he stays put (at the Broncos),” Carayannis continued.

“I’m willing to put my money on it.”

The 22-year-old has scored six tries in 30 games for the Broncos since his debut in 2021, including 19 games last year in a breakout season.

He's signed three times with the Broncos since 2017. I have no doubt he won't leave.

The made up Roosters thing was just based on May.

NRL have set a price tag of 950k for Hunt.

There goes the idea of bringing him back.

That is a ridiculous price tag ...

I get that he's been on over a million a year for a long time, but he is 35.

To compare we're getting Reynolds (who IMO is a much better half) for $500k next year. Both players are the same age as well.

Is this true?

GOD I hope he has a blinder of a year, just to see the whinging from the media and other clubs "OMG he's this good and they've got him on 500k, DISGUSTING **** THE BRONCOS"

Better half, but you could argue Ben Hunt is the better player and his rep history makes him a more valuable player.

The Roosters had to give up Mitchell Pearce to sign Cooper Cronk when Cooper was Hunt's age. I doubt Cooper was on a cut price deal.

How much was it reportedly?

Unknown at this stage but the media were suggesting he could've got double what he was on with us originally by going elsewhere.

I would say 500-550k a year is probably close to the mark.

Couldn’t help but laugh that I started reading right at this post like 2 minutes after I read the official statement that he had signed a new deal.
Maybe he meant he was buying a property towards the gold coast?

Haven't seen this rumoured anywhere, but I have a feeling something is brewing with Payne Haas.

Available to negotiate with rivals, Broncos locking down his long-term replacement, Roosters freeing up more cap space, Broncos feeling a cap squeeze..

Wouldn't be shocked if Payne as the Roosters next season.

Next season? He isn't a free agent until November next year right? So Willison is only signed one season longer than Haas at this stage.
