Man watching Herbie for England reminded me of just how good he is - we seriously screwed up not retaining him. Mariner has the potential physically to be as good but I don't think he has the footy brain Herbie does. Herbie is a legit gun.

Its the old footballer vs athlete thing (though Herbie seems like a mix of both), Broncos seem to prefer the latter ever since the early 2010s.

I would have loved to have kept him, and I think the club would have also.

The problem was the reported 850k a year the Phins offered him. I'm not sure any centre is worth that
 
Also just a quick comment on the assumption that Reynolds will retire at the end of 2025.

That's not a certainty yet. He has said he's not sure if he wants to go around again.

If he decides to go around again, we should definitely offer him a new deal. He'd be much better to mentor Black than Hunt would.

It really is a myth that he is prone to injury. With the exception of 2024 and years nearly a decade ago, he has averaged over 20 games a year.

I wonder if we might try to get him back though. Hindsight is a wonderful thing but you'd take him over both Cobbo and Staggs now if you had the choice.

Nah **** that. A sprinkling of NSWs filth in the right places I can cop but too many of the ***** is not on.
We are still a Qld team and need to keep it that way.

Mozer i'm guessing unless you are being a smart ass...

I quite like McInnes and is a tough all effort player that we need more of but his best position is already filled my someone better so would be a luxury signing so hoping your whispers stay just that
