Taupau is on a small deal for next year. The other names you’re mentioned are already signed for next year

I've been watching the fellas over their social medias during the off season and the rumours of them being disconnected is such BS - obviously groups are going on trips together or separately (golf in Tassie, international trips etc), but they've been constantly communicating publicly. Tagging each other in stories. Cute bromance shit.

The rumours of squad disconnect seem a narrative from the outgoing coach camp, if anything.

With all of this in mind I am confident that we retain who we need, largely because the group want to stay together.

I dont think there is a disconnect either. As with every squad though, you have some groups who are closer than others, and you have issues with players who probably arent the best of mates but are still professional enough to get along. Doesnt mean they hate each other though.

I think it's more towards the factions with regards to respect and leadership...

It is an issue if there's an "us" and "them" mentality in the group.

The entire squad should be united to win a premiership.

Anyone who is anything worth a dam could tell Hunt wouldn't sign anything at all while still in Aus camp.

Anyone who was claiming otherwise simply is silly.

That being said, him having talks with us and his manager trying to find the right deal, absolutely that's happening.

NRL are going to have to pay down and just allow this one to happen and just deal with the opposition fan backlash. They can't possibly think they can hold this one back from happening.

The silver lining of them not being signed before other offers come in, is that if they do stay with us there will be no “what ifs”. They signed with us because out of all the deals, staying at the broncos for whatever amount agreed to was their preferred offer.

It should avoid Haas type situations where they are angry that they might be able to get more elsewhere

If there’s a disconnect anywhere it’s between the club and the players.
Club clearly has no fucken clue and players are apparently all living on the coast which won’t do. Walsh needs to move because Ormeau is on the glitter strip. lol how ridiculous. The club is still leaking like a sieve to the media.

And the players will also need to remember that it may not be greener on the other side of fence. And then their is the side issues like relocating and property prices being 30% higher in Sydney.
