When can we expect the reported good news- signings?
Kobe's meeting is also next week, if Kobe is told he can go take up another offer I think that would be a indicator that there's a good chance Hunt will be coming to us because we'd have more money available.According to SEN, Hunt will sort through contract stuff next week after the Kangaroos' final. Expect an announcement, strong indication next week on whether he ends up with us or not.

1/3 of our roster would be hookers/halves though.
Think it all hinges on what he is charged with and what potential jail time there is can't remember the number for the no fault stand down thing
so no cap relief then i gather? He's not going to get 11 plus years jail time. He's not going to be stood down while his case carries out- he's going to be suspended.
I think the cap relief would only come if he's required to front court, because that is usually when the no fault stand down comes into it.so no cap relief then i gather?

Sounds fairI would say no, if he gets 10-12 weeks suspension, you're not getting any relief. If he was facing 11 years plus and it was going to drag on for two years, then you can like the Dragons did for De Belin but even then it was 250k.
The Roosters asked for relief for Crichton and were denied when he was getting help for mental health issues, and they didn't know when he would play. He ended up missing 8 games.

Guys some big news just breaking about how the Broncos plan to sign Hunt via a loophole. Please see details below:
- NRL have ruled they can't use Mam's money
- a loophole exists whereby if both parties are prepared to wait, his required salary would reduce by $75K p/month.
- example, if he hasn't signed by Jan 1st, his contract could be registered at $750K
- the NRL are looking at making Hunt’s market value to be less than his Dragons contract, which would make it even easier for Brisbane to sign him.
- Mal Meninga has urged Brisbane to "bring him home".
Looking more and more likely you blokes are gonna sign him. Heck maybe even for a 'bargain'. This will happen much sooner than Jan 1st of course if Hetherington is off your books soon.

We don't know that yet, a contract hasn't been lodged. If four clubs make offers of 600k they're not going to say he can't play until someone offers him 950k.
That's why they don't value a player until they see the offers or contracts.
Two ways they can get his contract down is depending on how long this takes to sign. If he doesn't sign until January that's 150k less, you have to offer him and if the second year is a lot cheaper you can save some more money there. He's going to have to take one of the two years cheaper and the second one makes more sense.
I think someone will get him for 1.2 for two years.
But no the NRL haven't valued him yet.
Talking about adult time for adult crime in QLD and this chopstick gets away with a suspension. Likely will be the outcome I would think. When you take a stand and sack a degen like the Bulldogs just did and other clubs trip over themselves to hire him.. it's kind of understandable. Sad.He's not going to get 11 plus years jail time. He's not going to be stood down while his case carries out- he's going to be suspended.
Well……Yes, good signing to be announced by end of week. Solid.
