Broncos Roster, Signings and Rumours Discussion 2025

pls pls pls I hope this is finalised soon. I believe @007 and his sources, and really appreciate them.

I remember him discussing an unknown hand injury for Cleary late last year before it was public, and about two days later he was sitting out of training with a taped wrist.

Agreed. There are the few of us here that appreciate 007 or 1910 or whoever else giving us the information they have. Thanks guys. These idiots constantly giving you shit for this doesn't speak for the majority.

I'm a big fan of @007 but it did take me a while to forgive him after he accused me of being Pete Badel on my first day of posting here haha

That's one of the worst insults you can have thrown at you.

Ben Hunt took a tour of the Bulldogs facilities in Sydney today. I tell you what, if they somehow snare him, they must be close to being the new Roosters in terms of their sombrero.

I still think it is odds on he will end up in Brisbane, whether that be with the Broncos or Dolphins though, I don't know.

I just don’t get why the dogs or phins want him when they both have young halfbacks whose development Hunt will ruin. Sexton will be out of the team completely if the dogs get him, and there’s a zero percent chance that hunt will take a backseat to ikat at the phins.

If I were the dogs I’d be making May or another middle my number 1 priority.

From the clubland perspective, quality halfbacks rarely enter the player's market. So when there's a rep quality half you'll take a chance even if you have a solid halfback because it could just snare you a premiership.

From the Bulldogs perspective, while they rate Sexton, they also have young Mitchell Woods coming through among others. Unless they're confident Sexton can take them to a premiership, they're not afraid to cut bait.

Personally I don't know if Ben Hunt is worth the headache but a lot of quality judges say otherwise.

If he did go to the Dogs though, would you be keen to get Sexton?

Master coach Anthony 'Hook Griffin' with his take on why signing Hunt would be a 'rare coup' for most clubs:

- has at least two years left in first grade football.
- "Whoever gets him is going to land a great asset."
- "For any club, but particularly Brisbane, getting him would be a real coup."
- to have a playmaker like Ben on the market is extremely rare.
- player market will get even worse when it goes to 18 teams.
- "He is a real professional. He works really hard on his body."
- "He has that Queensland country durability about him. Natural strength."
- "He is a bit like Cameron Smith and Cooper Cronk ... guys who knew how to get around the park and played until their late 30s and Ben could do that as well.’’

Whichever way you slice it Ben Hunt owes us a comp...full stop

What connection does this have to the rest of the story there?

When a player like Hunt suddenly becomes available, you gotta grab em. More teams means less quality players going around.

Remember this is Hook, a lot of what he says probably doesnt make sense to anyone.

I would happily take Hunt back at the Brisbane Broncos for a year or 2 but he definitely needs to take a decent pay cut. Also, Billy Walters needs to be shown the door 1st as well if we are serious about bringing Hunt home.
