Broncos Roster, Signings and Rumours Discussion 2025

Dolphins offered a two year deal worth 1.4 million.

However the Broncos remain in the box seat with their 1.1 million offer.

When did Matt Tripp join the club?

The NRL don't seem to care about the salary cap that much anymore, so might as well take advantage of it.

Dolphins offer is 800k for '25 and 600k for '26.

Broncos offer is 300k less but they are offering a job after retirement which is seen as a trump card. Under NRL salary cap rules, in the final year of their career, a player can be paid off the salary cap as part of their transition into retirement.

The role has to be documented and the payment has to be at market rates.

Bulldogs aren't as keen as being made out. They haven't made any offer yet, they are waiting to see if they can pick him up on the cheap. Ciraldo rates Sexton.
Cheers! Get it done Dave!

Rep player available you def have a crack and sort out where to play him later IMO

I swear i just read the other day that he didnt want to leave syd cause his family was settled nicely there, was that bs

Wasn't his fault and it all worked out because of the decisions he made so it's silly to hold that against him.
I listened to what he said after the trial game where Walsh stood out like balls. He didn't even mention him.

I wonder how Reynolds feels about Hunt coming on board. Does Reynolds want another year or is he content with retiring?

I don't think he'll care (I believe he has endorsed the chase for Hunt).

Let's just assume that Reynolds wants another year ... we should give it to him and run with a Hunt/Mozer hooker combination

It was not. Plenty of reasons to bag on Kev, but his handling of the Walsh situation isn't one of them.
You can't give him any credit for Walsh. Don't even try to rewrite history on that.

That's always been media speculation

With ezra getting suspended he would be very valuable and with reynolds injury prone, hopefully our 2 starting backrowers stay healthy

Reynolds isn't injury prone. that's a fallacy. he averages over 20 games per year in his career. he has played less than 20 games in only 3 years out of a 13 year career

The job would most likely be with all his old mates Macca, JYY, Gillett, Reed and probably throw Oates in there aswell

Yeah true, more basing it off this season that just passed where he was constantly getting injured easily

The Courier Mail article says that the Phins offer of a two year deal is worth $1.4 million ... while our offer of a two year deal is $1.1 million

so, Hunt would have to sacrafice $300k a season to come to us 🤔

Edit: the article also says that the Roosters have salary cap constraints and can't outbid either QLD club; while the Bulldogs have the cash after missing out on Paps, but are not as keen as the Broncos or Dolphins. the Bulldogs are yet to make a formal offer and are prepared to wait and see if he is available at a reduced rate.

Well hey, we now have the Paps principle, so why not? We can just pay him off the record too.

according to the article you can sort of do that for a player who is in the final year of their career.

this is what's said in the article:

Under NRL salary cap rules, in the final year of their career, a player can be paid off the salary cap as part of their transition into retirement.

It is understood the role has to be documented and the payment has to be at market rates.
