I think we should have let Staggs go. If the rumours of $800k per season are true it’s way too much. He is not an elite centre. Crichton, Best, Herbie, Holmes are all significantly better. Staggs really is quite average these days.

From recollection, Jesse was the MVP of that lot in the Grand Final. Herbie had a game to forget.
He gets way too much credit and does nothing to prove it wrong. He got torn to shreds by panthers, when Shibasaki held strong all game.

That’s about 200k a year more than what our best offer should have been. Not sure we can keep Cobbo if those figures are true and he is way more important than Staggs.
My only hope is that as usual, the figures are guesswork and we are paying him significantly less.

He has been hot and cold at the Phins .
Had a shocker last week . Has had several other below par performances .
They do have him passing the ball regularly though .

Most centres seem to give him a bath. They say he is a good defensive centre because he doesn’t miss many tackles but that’s because he often doesn’t even get a hand to them because so far out of position.

Did we actually sign Grant Anderson? Because if we did, I’d much rather him and Shibasaki/Mariner as our centres than Staggs, and the three of them are probably less than $800k combined…

He's played as many Origins as Edrick Lee. Both got their jersey because of inuries, it means nothing really. Staggs is good for a highlights play once a month so fits the Broncos entertainment club approach.

I agree with this. Most of our players are incredibly overrated. I do think Walsh, Mam and Cobbo have potential to be elite, but all too inconsistent at the moment.
I know most won't agree, but i'd be tempted to get Fifita at the right price and let Riki go. Have Fifita on his preferred left edge, and transition Willison to the right with Piakura as a backup. Riki tries hard, but he just never runs good lines and isn't a threat with the ball at all.

Didn't Kotoni say earlier in the year that he's had chats with Cobbo to make sure they both stay? Not sure that asking/signing for $800k pa will achieve that.
