To a certain degree, age doesnt matter, its games under the belt. Mam is in his 5th year of NRL now and still not great defensively. I find that concerning both on his part and on the coaching he is getting.

Like Walsh, do we just accept him not being a great defender and try as a team to mitigate that because they are both very good in attack when they are on, or do we find a better, more consistently reliable option who wont be liability in defence?

That’s not where Billy started, until he turned out to be a fail as 5/8. That’s when Kevvie declared he always thought of Billy as a hooker anyway. Then under Madge turned out he went ok as a 5/8.

you do realise that Billy wasn't even at the club when Dearden signed with the Cowboys.

Dearden lost out to Milford and Croft. that alone should tell you how poorly he was going at the time

besides Dearden signed with the Cowboys mid-2021. Billy wasn't even at the club until 2022.

at the time Dearden couldn't beat out either Croft or Milford for a halves spot

I know, his father cleared the decks for him. He sucked ass at playing footy his first 2 years here but was impossible to drop.

Kevvie’s first order of business when he got here was to sign his son. The tigers even played hardball because they knew how bad he wanted him. We had no ceo at the time or were in some kind of interim period. Kevvie had full reign of the team.

We have a guy who gets good inside info on the forum who tells us that Turpin was told as soon as kevvie got here that he wasn’t in the plans for next year, that he should look elsewhere. Turpin was going alright at the time.

Typical response from someone with no actual counter-argument. I’ll be the first to admit Billy went alright last year. However that’s it, he sucked balls at rl for the first 4 years.
