Other than...

Running the most meters of any front rower on the ground in the grand final - 2nd most for any forward only just behind Katoa who made a line break on the edge and played 80, Willison only played 40.

Most post contact meters of anyone on the field with zero errors or penalties conceded and a grand total of 1 missed tackle.

Averages 111 meters a game with most of that off the bench.

95.6 tackle efficiency.

Covers Prop AND Second Row at an NRL standard.

Was great for us in both games against the 'Riff and in the Grand Final.

Doing that on the biggest stage, and representing Cook Islands and New Zealand (Maori All Stars and the NZ squad for the current tournament).

If representing your country, wearing a premiership ring and having impressive stats in the Prelim and GF is "hasnt proven much yet" - then you're a hard person to impress.

The kid's one of the most in demand young forwards in the game, we were all crowing when he re-signed.

Willison is still very early in his career, he's not going to be on the $1.5 million that Tino will want. We develop Willison and he's going to be just as good as good as Tino in a few years time.

I don't see Tino as a like for like replacement for Haas so why break the bank to replace him.

Haas was carrying an injury through the last couple of games, in the grand final particularly his stats were way down. He was still a beast - but not a game breaking one like he can be.

Bring in a couple of hard nosed, solid performers to pair up with Patty, Xavier and Jensen and we'll go ok. Talty will be decent. I don't think it's worth spending big on KK / Tino - they are a shadow of Haas, you'll never get that same bang for buck value.

Would be better investing elsewhere on the park to get those meters up and bringing in forwards who never drop the ball, have an occasional offload but are lion-hearts in defense.

This Madge as England coach is coming from a bloke called the analyser on SEN .
He threw it out as "what I would do if I were England" scenario.

The guy is a big Bulldogs fan and was backing their chances all year.
Big stats man and uses stats to validate his opinions.
I can take him or leave him. He makes some interesting left field observations though.
 
I think Haas will go for a few years but likely come back. He doesn't want to play against the Broncos.
 
I dunno yet - I mean, likely if R360 happens, he's gone for the money. But to me, Jhye Grey is a bit of the Canary in the Coal Mine possibly. He pulled out and stayed in the NRL even though he would have gotten a lot more.

Payne's got a lot to weigh up and a lot tied to SE QLD. Doesn't mean he wont, it's just not a sure thing. R360 might implode at any point between now and when he goes - so there's quite a lot of risk for him on the extra money.

Ive never checked nrl player stats in my life so i wouldnt have known that, thanks for sharing

oh yeah totally, Im just talking about them as players all else equal
 
Can't blame him for going but he'd want to have more confidence they will come through with the money than I do.

The NRL will let him back if he goes, the question though will be who follows him. The NRL can talk tough all they want but losing Haas is huge, other players will look at him and go well if he sees this comp as legit, that's good enough for me to consider it too.
