Alright, so we have an opening in the forwards and plenty of dosh to spend, who do we go after?

It has to be a player who is ready to do the hard yards. No one else is signing under Madge.

Pat at prop should only be revisited when he's like 33 and wants to drop back to like 40mins a game.

Until then we need him in that ball playing lock role, but also need to preserve him a bit by not having to take those kick off hitups and ugly early carries.

That wasn't on Pat though, it was Kobe trying to be a 13 when he wasn't.
Had no issues playing there in Origin 3, was solid as a rock. I just want that Bai kid, he's deadest a future QLD 13, plus it's always nice to give the Titans a bit of a kick in the balls every now and then.
Also Pat would be 30 by then.

Eventually we should move him to prop to accommodate Jared Horne at 13. He's our Cooper Bai.

I don't think we should necessarily go and sign another marquee middle forward to replace Haas. I think Willison and Carrigan are capable. Ideally Tawha steps up for us in the middle too. I wouldn't be opposed to keeping him on the left edge though. I'm not a big fan of Piakura..

Will be interesting to see how Cobbo develops this year seeing as we will have the cap space to bring him back now. Which apparently was the plan.. I get the feeling Shibasaki will get his pay day by signing with Perth. We have Grant Anderson who is capable, so not entirely necessary to bring Cobbo back. Phillip Coates looks good too. Antonio Verhoeven will be a star, we must keep him.

I wouldn't be opposed to re-signing Ben Hunt for one more year, we could use his leadership with Haas and Reynolds gone.

Francis is our Bai and the one we need to keep no matter what, never been overly impressed with Horne
 
Agreed. Tupou Francis is the guy but he isn't going to be that guy in the next year or two and potentially longer. Horne is not of the elk of a Francis.

Signings needed to boost the middle and edge forward regions. We have the money to spend so lets get some blokes in...

@1910 Any reason for the Francis omission in the emerging squad?

I just dont like Pat taking the kick off returns... need to protect him so we can get 5-7 more years out of him.

At 28 I'm already thinking "I'm not ready"

Dicey sitch. If he's not the same player there's no point, if he is, Dolphins will probably want to keep him + he might feel some loyalty to them for sticking with him during the rehab etc etc.
