OFFICIAL Broncos sign Brenko Lee

In a like for like replacement for Xavier Coates, the Broncos have signed Storm and Maroons winger Brenko Lee on a 2 year deal starting in 2022. Lee, who can play wing or centre, has already advised his Storm team mates of his decision. He has not played a game yet this season due to injury.

Lee:

Coming to the Storm has been a life-changing experience mentally and physically. I nearly gave it away after the Titans told me it was best for us to part ways and go in a different direction. I hold no grudges against anyone. They finished last and some guys had to go.”

“If you told me I would have been in a grand final, I would have asked what you are smoking because I didn’t think it was possible. was close to pulling the pin completely. Right. So if it is from Badel, there is a REALLY good chance it is made up then and also a good chance there are absolutely no quotes whatsoever then.
i have only skimmed it m y self but i think there is a quote from brenko talking about how be spoke to kevie and he thinks hes building up something special here. something along those lines any way.

Mmmm, fair enough. He went okay in game 3 of SOO which wasn't a Storm system and he didn't miss in defence, 12 from 12. I do understand the reasoning but I think KW probably identified what he needs. I wouldn't be surprised to learn KW called WB as WB had Brenko in camp and probably formed an opinion. He's definitely another, like Reynolds where we have to wait and see.

PS. Never write the word 'back' after the word 'revert'

I kind of think SOO is a bit of an outlier when judging players. Some players just seem to step up in Origin and maybe Brenko is one of those. I guess we will see next year how he goes if does sign.

He is poor defensively and lacks speed. I am totally confused by this one.

This is such a strange one. Brenko can be absolutely diabolical defensively, but also a massive threat with ball in hand. I don't care that he has played origin, he should only be a squad player and not a first choice centre.

I hope we haven't paid more than 200k/year

I am ok with this, as a depth player. I can't see him as anything else at this stage.

So this isn't yet official and I can't see any comments from anyone on it. Is this legit or made up?

From Badel in an article where he also repeats his made up figure of $2.5 million for Reynolds

Yeah this is why I am not rushing to believe this is actually a thing but that said, Read also mentioned it and I do respect him.

Mmmm, diabolical defensively. 14 games for the premiers, 91% tackle efficiency. Yep, that's pretty terrible alright. Won a premiership and an origin series. Can't think why KW thinks he might be useful.

91% tackle efficiency is pretty good isn't it? Like in a premium team with an incredibly demanding coach you'd nearly think you'd be expected to defend well, wouldn't you? Unless Bellamy doesn't mind poor defenders.
Go check his stat's previous storm and storm system.

lol the people saying he cant do well outside Melbourne did he not play well in a SOS decider against a star studded blues?
He had the plodder whisperer telling him what to do tho.

Wayne gets every skerrick of effort out people

Why? Are they relevant? Like the years previously when he was only in the 80% to 84% range? Oh, I see. You just fucked up what you were trying to say.

What you meant was he's been great defensively lately but before that he was just average. You go on to say he's much improved and Craig Bellamy has honed his defensive skills and under that tutelage he's developed into a fine defensive centre. Okay, sorry. I know what you mean and totally agree with you.

You can have a high tackle efficiency but still be shit in defence

I feel like this conversation has taken place before though

You mean Wayne AND Bellamy. Lee had 100% tackle efficiency in SOO 3 2020 and 91% over 14 games for Bellamy. Mmmmm, very poor. He could have done much better😳

Can you? Surprised Bellamy put up with it. Must be pretty easy going sort of fella
