Arrogance and blindness. No-one in any position in the club, thinks they are doing a bad job. Even after their first ever wooden spoon...

The 2019 “review” was telling. Nothing whatsoever changed in reality. Boyd was stripped of the captaincy, the one he should never have had in the first place and shouldn‘t even have been in the team, in reality.

So they gave it to a bloke who they didn’t even originally want and hadn’t re-signed instead...

None of this is in any way, wrong. They didn’t want Alex Glenn and were happy for him to leave. So of course, they made him captain and re-signed him for 2 years...

So here’s my question and it is going to be a very unpopular one given the regard that these ‘insiders’ are held in, but **** it. If you have such intimate details about all the fucked up shit that is happening at the club and the apparent way Kevvie is being treated (information the CM doesn’t even report on), how come you never know anything about signings? Seems odd seeing that this club leaks like a sieve about that stuff yet you know the inner workings of the boardroom more than daddy’s paper.

They have given insight into player signings, plenty of times. Fifita was keen to stay until more money and our incompetent club drove him away. There hasn’t been much insider scoops on here about signings for a while because there hasn’t been any notable signings for a while. It doesn’t sound like there’s much in the works either.

You've got to be kidding right? How could you honestly hold Fifita's change of heart against anyone?

I suspect if you'd asked Paul White himself at the same point he'd have been equally as certain that Fifita was a done deal. I know it's a Moley cliche to say 'Things change bro" but honestly more than any other instance I can ever recall, I really do feel this time around things really did change for Fifta almost overnight.

We already know he very likely told the Titans he was coming to them as a done deal, only to panic at the last moment and stall for two weeks and go back to the Broncos for a better deal, only to then go back to the Titans when that deal couldn't be achieved. If you and I and everybody else know this is true, then is it really so hard to believe that prior to any of this he told the Broncos he was 100% staying too?

If anything, our seeming complacency around his signing seems to very much support the notion that we obviously felt we'd done enough already and that he was in the bag.

I don't know @Smokin' Joe at all but I'd find the Fifita issue and the backwards and forwards circus that it was very hard to hold against him or anyone else saying he was a done deal because I don't doubt at all that Fifita was telling the club one thing and obviously entertaining another at some point and probably the only person on Earth who really knew that was Fifita himself and perhaps his Mother.

To be entirely fair to you, If I recall correctly back to when you first indicated Fifita was all under control, since that initial point Fifita went from being a huge emerging talent who was going to need a solid upgrade to a million $$$+ player, basically the highest paid player in the game, and at the same time we went from a promising team on the up and fighting for a Top 4 spot to being easily the worst team in the competition with mass coaching and internal club turmoil that is tearing the joint apart.

I really can't believe that even in light of those well publicised circumstances you really need to come on here and explain to people why that might have all combined to change the situation for Fifita, but here we are...

I don't know who this was aimed at but for me it's boring. If I get to chat to someone- player, coach or administrator I want to find out bigger things about their role or the why of something than if someone is staying or going.

Signings will be in the paper anyway. You can find out much more interesting content.

Guess it is what you value and want to know. I probably lean to Broncos playing ISC and how they play and why things happen in roles.

Most of the time it's awkward to ask someone if they're staying or going I've seen eyes glaze over straight away. I don't even ask my mates if they're staying or going- just wait and message congratulations when it gets announced. I think they appreciate that more than asking all the time.
