OFFICIAL Broncos Sourced Player Movement and Confirmed Signings - Locked

Think origin last night goes a long way towards proving that it's not always about individual talent and that success, more than anything, depends on a team who lifts, believes in each other and plays with passion, spirit and dedication.

Don't let the lack of signing news bother you.
We have the talent here already.
Kevvie's focus should be on getting them back to their best and to play tough and hard and strong and for each other and we can bounce back strongly next year.

We could still get Capewell if the board stop burying their heads in the sand and do the bold thing of doing their jobs and making stuff happen. Instead, they’ll likely review the need to do their jobs and then lament the missed opportunity once it is past.
Or just maybe we don't want Capewell

I just read a story on his rags to riches journey. A true RL battler who still isn't exactly earning a great deal. His market value just rose significantly.

I tell you what, if there was the possibility of swapping Lodge for Collins, I'd be seriously entertaining it too.
Lindsay is pretty happy and very settled at Bondi. He is a loyal dude as well and is due for a contract upgrade at his current club. I don't think returning to Brisbane has even crossed his mind.

I think hass needs to get a rocket put up him. He was very average last night. Similar to his games with the broncos this year, he got the ball flat footed and lumbered into and made very little dent in the defence. Compare that to safiti and papalii last night, who just put in everything behind each run.

What ya know @Wolfie ?
Asking for a mate..

Do you know something Wolfie? You mentioned something about staggs not hanging about too .

I did hear the Jayden is keen to come back and the question has been asked and it wasn't an outright no. Its a bit vague, but that's all I have

Should have actually said its his management thats asked the question.

Let's see how well Collins plays with a broken leg and not-properly-healed injuries before we declare him better than Lodge...
Even if Lodge is better there is a lack of value on the money he is on. Roosters are getting way better value out of Collins than we are out of Lodge.

I admit I never wanted him here and he proved on and off the field that he had earned a right to stay. However, he is not worth near the cap money he is on even on his best form last year.

If Collins performs like he did last night, consistently for his club, he won't be on the money he is on now. He would be cheap, now, because he's unproven, and playing in a team where he is only required to do a very simple role of maintain the momentum built up by the starting forwards.

If he is replacing Lodge, he needs to be starting, playing 50 - 55 minutes of high effort workload, and if he's doing that he'll cost around the same as Lodge anyway.

He's played these minutes (around 50) in a few games for the Roosters and delivered when asked to do the job. I agree he will get an upgrade but even so will still be better value than the 750K for Lodge.

For me its not about whether Collins is better value than Lodge it is more about how much we are paying Lodge to do a specific job and the lack of value in it. Only if Lodge is at current Papaali levels is he value and I do not think he has that in him.

Imo the issue is not so much of a lodge vs Collins thing, but that the roosters are great at finding those low cost forwards that pack punch and cost f all.

And when they do make a name for themselves and sign for more dosh elsewhere, they just replace them with the next.

He's started in 5 games out of 19 this year, and averaged under 40 minutes per game. So no, not yet he hasn't, certainly not consistently.

Exactly. He was signed by the rorters when he was young and inexperienced and not an NRL player.

He played a few games around the 50 mark. Yes,not consistently but I think he can do it if given the opportunity and depending on rotations etc.

I agree Lodge is capable of playing longer minutes consistently when he isn't injured. I still don't think he is worth near the salary and length of deal he is on.

Look at his peers coming up through the Broncos and the money we are paying them in comparison. We got greedy and tried to keep to many of the young forwards we had coming through.

Yep, our roster is massively out of balance in this regard compared to Roosters and Melbourne.
