I'm a Bruno hater as well, i can accept he got mucked around by QLD health (Anna Bligh FTL), but geeze i think it was silly publicly stating we weren't going to play. Honestly was that ever going to happen?

You would have thunk he'd wait until he has his meeting with Gallop before publicly stating something as drastic as that. Bit of respect for the club and the game thanks Bruno.

Well that statement was made before Qld Health went "72 hours, oh we just pulled that number out of our arses - they can play, of course they can play." So he was still operating on the basis that all but 5 players would still be in quarantine until at least 10pm tonight - therefore leaving us phyiscally incapable of fielding a team. Gallop only instigated the meeting after Bruno made his statement.

Seriously Qld Health really need to get a clue. They say it's OK for the players to come out of quarantine early to play but they should still be in quarantine instead of attending Cyril's funeral [icon_non

Yesterday, the state's chief health officer Dr Jeannette Young advised against the Broncos attending Mr Connell's funeral, with the team still inside the quarantine period following Hunt's positive swine flu test.

However, the Broncos have chosen to ignore that advice after a stand-off over whether tonight's game against the Bulldogs should go ahead.

Also

Hunt, who tested positive for swine flu yesterday, is a confirmed starter for tonight's match against the Bulldogs at Suncorp Stadium.

The Bulldogs are in for a rude shock tonight me thinks..... So I'd imagine Hoffman or Hewitt will play on the wing in place of Winterstien??? Lockyer is due for a big game as is Wallace so hopefully these two can deliver tonight.

lol, nah, but it was one of the mitigating factors, that and we had to drive from the very north side all the way to the south side to pick them up then back into lang park and it wasn't feasible, if only i had of got the offer yesterday! :evil:
