If you're one of Gagai's mates does that mean we get inside info during the season?

Wow, talk about a derailed thread... :rash:
All I care about is that Norman does a good job in the jersey #6, and whether he emulates the God of Rugby League or my grannys arse in the process, is of no importance.
What I would like though, is to get information on the trial games I can't see.
But all that the whingeing of some people that get annoyed at certain comparisons will achieve, is that the people with that information won't post it, because they can't be bothered with the political correctness some posters seem to demand on here.
To those posters I would say: Get a grip... seriously! :shake:
You'll get info. None of it will be accurate though if history is anything to go by.
For God's sake people cut out the Corey Norman comparisons to Darren Lockyer. That was yesterday, and yesterday's gone.
Norman is nothing like Lockyer. He has put a bit of size on in the off-season and reminds me more of a Trent Barrett or Brad Fittler in his body shape and hopefully in time that reflects in his running game.
You can't expect Norman to slot in at 6 as a straight sub for Lockyer.
Just like the Broncos tried vehemently for 2 seasons to use Norman and then Hoffman as Hunt's replacement, then ditched the idea altogether and went for a new focus in attack based on the roster and its player's skills rather than trying to replicate the past.
Corey Norman will need 10 seasons of NRL (if he gets the change) before he is anywhere near as composed or experienced as Lockyer. If you don't believe me go back, right now, and watch the Raiders game from June last year and the ridiculous options Corey took in the clutch.
The next 5-10 seasons are going to be made on a wave of confidence for whatever our young halves combination might be. If we don't string good games together it will be tough for an inexperienced set of halves to take the reigns and drag the team out of the mire.
Really?
From what I've seen, there is very little to compare Lockyer vs Norman at the same age, on the field or off the field.
In Lockyer's third season (1998) he was already the incumbent fullback for Qld and Australia. Norman has failed to build on the hype of the first quarter of 2010, got dropped back to the U20s and has stagnated there. Griffin wouldn't even risk him for the Manly preliminary final
For what it's worth it is totally unfair on Norman to make those comparisons.
I can't wait to be proven wrong and for him to have a breakthrough season. Only time will tell.
