Brisbane fullback Karmichael Hunt is battling an eye infection and is in some doubt for Friday night's NRL clash with St George Illawarra at Suncorp Stadium.

Hunt was a noted absentee at training at Red Hill on Tuesday with wing speedster Denan Kemp slotting in at fullback in the first signs all may not be right for Brisbane's representative custodian.

Kemp added to the mystery after training when he said he may not be playing on the wing where he has scored 15 tries to the NRL's equal-leading try-scorer this season.

Hunt wasn't the only Bronco to miss Tuesday morning's solid session with veteran Tonie Carroll (hamstring), who missed the game against the Warriors, still not out of the water and Ben Hannant (cork) expected to play.

A stiff neck kept Kiwi utility Greg Eastwood off the field on Tuesday but like Hannant he is expected to line-up against the Dragons.

Is Hoffman fit at the moment? I'd slot him straight into the #1 if Hunt is out.

gonna really struggle to score points, i would have liked to have seen stagg in centres and boyd to fb with palmer on the bench and eastwood to lock....... lets hope this is the last time we wont field a full strength side.....

I can see us smashing the Dragons on Friday Nite. Our pack is starting to hit its straps and Lockyer and Wallace are working well together. Sure we will miss Hunt , Hodges and Carroll but I can't see how we can lose this game TBH.

Also, who are Locky & Wallace going to create for outside them? Boyd has to step up huge this game, and Kemp will find it hard enough to come into the backline on the 3rd and 4th.
