Well it seems that all players under suspensions threats will be available i.e. Ennis, Sa and O'Meley.

Let's just hope the weather down in Sydney clears and doesn't ruin a good game which we should win easily icon_thumbs_u

All pre match talk in here thanks guys !!!

I can't see us losing this game, if we apply ourselves properly we should win by a good margin on a dry track. Rain might keep the Roorters in the game so lets hope it is a fine night in Sydney. I look forward to seeing a fit and ready Hodges carving up these pack of clowns

I would go with the same team that beat the Knights

i think there may be upsets in some other games so this is a must win, or we could be eliminated. we could even end up with the week off and go straight thru to the gf qualifier which might be good? i dunno.

I have a really good feeling about this game. we should account for the Rooters easily ... with Lockyer/Wallace/Ennis having outstanding games in attack [icon_drun

The Rooters pack has been pretty soft for the second half of the season, I feel pretty confident provided our forwards keep consistent. Just for the hell of it i'll put my preference of team

1. Hunt
2. Kemp
3. Moon
4. Hodges
5. Boyd
6. Lockyer
7. Wallace
8. Hannant
9. Ennis
10. Clinton
11. Thaiday
12. Stagg
13. Carroll

14. Kenny
15. Eastwood
16. Taylor
17. Sims

I realise it's finals time and we should leave the team the same as much as we can, but Parker is just completely useless at the moment.

Parker lifted last week and played well. He doesn't deserve to be dropped, particularly for Taylor.

Yeah Parker got his mongrel on at long last against the Kniggots. I think this will be a close match. The Roosters will approach this one with the mentality of: if we can bear Brisbane, we can go all the way. The key to this will be bashing their forwards (not easy), kicking long to the corners and boxing Mini in and pressuring the little overrated hack that is Mythal Pearce.

Last week was a team effort, the first decent performance since the Raiders match, I wouldn't be in any rush to change the lineup after that. Parker did play better too last week despite his shocker with the boot but I would still rate him a far better goalkicking option then Ennis when it counts.

I have a suspicion that Wallace is better than either of them.

I'm salivating already. Leave the team.

My only change would be to bring Taylor onto the bench for Sims - Sims only played 29 mins last week and 34 the week before. Taylor usually plays a little bet less than that but I think he could make more of an impact. Sure Taylor is known to be a bit lazy and gets tired quickly (But is sims any better??), but just 1 of his runs could change a game entirely - something I can't say Sims can do at this point in time.

Therefore my team would look like this:

1. Hunt
2. Kemp
3. Moon
4. Hodges
5. Boyd
6. Lockyer
7. Wallace
8. Hannant
9. Ennis
10. Clinton
11. Parker
12. Thaiday
13. Carroll

14. Stagg
15. Eastwood
16. Kenny
17. Taylor

But as we know Sims will be picked, and the bench will look like this:

14. Sims
15. Eastwood
16. Kenny
17. Stagg

There forecast for Friday is a "possible shower". I'd suspect that it should be pretty dry which will suit our game massively.

There is no reason why we can't win this game. However, the Roosters defence last week was absolutely relentless. Let's hope they don't defend like that again otherwise I can see us being massively pressured in attack. The Roosters KNOW that they don't have the attacking "flair" to tear us apart. Their only hope is if they pressure our kickers and hold us out in defence - I think we're in for a very physical game because probably the only way they'll be able to get us.

O'Meley is playing, good thing is Ennis has been cleared too.

Broncos by 14.

Good summary there. I'm reasonably confident we can win this Friday and win well.

I'd like to see us try those little chips over the top to the wingers ..... like what Mullen did against us Vs the Knights .... if indeed the roosters are going to try and fluster us with a smothering defence, i think this play might reap rewards

Don't even need to kick it to the wings, the Roosters really compress their defence all you need to do is cut out pass to the wing.

Yep I agree. Their defence was good last week - bearing in mind though they kept the Dragons scoreless partially due to the ground conditions. We just have to come up with more unpredictable plays in attack so we can confuse them in defence.

I think the game will be tight and low scoring but we will run away with it in the last 10 mins.

I think the good, sharp short passing the Broncos employed against the Knights will work well. Switching play inside will work nicer, provided it's dry. The Broncos put the ball carrier under too much pressure at times Friday night, giving them the ball right as the defence was there which is tough with a wet ball.

Timing on that second man play needs to be good too, and it needs to be done after a quick play the ball near centre field. No point if it's a slow play the ball and the defence has time to adjust.

I think most of all the Broncos need to work on repeat sets to keep the Roosters' defensive line under pressure. And deny the Roosters many opportunities inside the Broncos 20m zone on the last tackle. That's where the Roosters are dangerous with Mythell Pearce's kicking game. They won't score long distance tries, so starve them of attacking position, and don't make mistakes in our own 20.

If the forwards can hold their own, we'll tear them apart out wide.

The Roosters pack is bigger, so we need to play an uptempo game with Ennis running out of dummy half. And then when we've got them on the back foot, spread it wide.
