How can Lockyer step back when his players aren't looking at him for direction, and attempting to do it themselves?
I have no doubt that we have a gameplan that Lockyer knows, but none of the players around him seem to remember it.
Then we get stupid threads like the 'Sad decline', saying Lockyer isn't up for it. Lockyer isn't to blame for our shit games, the players around him are to blame, and the coach is to blame too.

I think we saw enough from Hunt on Friday night to say, although he might not be there yet, there are signs that he has what it takes. In the modern game a halfback needs to be strong in defense and he has clearly shown that against the Bulldogs and the Knights, it's actually the strongest part of his game atm. Also, his vision to step and beat three defenders close to the line was very Langer/Johns like. I also thought before he was replaced by Norman in the 2nd half his downfield kicks were pretty spot on.
Still needs to work on his passing and close to the line kicks, but definitely enough there to say, with hard work, he will be a quality NRL halfback. Just have to hope that Henjack doesn't replace him with Norman for the next few games. I'd like to see Hunt play a full 80 minutes at Halfback and then work with Wallace during the rep season and be a bench player after Origin.

I tend to agree mate, I think Hunt is getting rubbished for no reason at all. He has shown glimmers of spark this season. The more he plays in the NRL the better and more confident he will be come. Although he is no TIM SMITH!!

Yep, Hunt has definitely shown a lot more than Tronc has in 2 games, and Tronc is an experienced player!

Tronc made 45 tackles and Dodds 43. Very impressive if you ask me.

Tackle count is a misleading stat though if you ask me. Any player defending in the middle of the park is going to get credited with making heaps of tackles - what does it prove? That they had players running at them all night? Big whoop...

I see your point however I've never been one to get excited about "Player X" making 50 tackles in a game or whatever - most of those "Player X" is 2nd or 3rd man in and gets credit for essentially not doing much.
I realise our defence is diabolical at the moment but saying Tronc is proving his worth by making 40-odd tackles doesn't balance the ledger for me if he offers nothing with ball in hand

Yes, but he's only played two games. Give him some time to get back into the swing of things.
I honestly can't believe people straight up don't rate him based on two games. He's had to come into a struggling side, and that's a hard thing to do.

Well all I'll say is that I think he's pushing shit uphill to get signed up for next year - happy to be proved wrong by him...but I'm not holding my breath
