I reckon K be moved to another role, even used as a utility but we move Hodges to Fullback.

Many will realise we did this in '06 when Hunt was out and Hodges was awesome in the possy.

It's time we look at giving him some more room to move and greater scope to direct the Broncos' play.

What do the fans think???

I think Hodges should stay where is and Hoffman at fullback. If we move Hodges to fullback, we have no attacking width.

What we do with Hunt? Don't really care. Depends on what Henjak wants to do, plan for next season? Or try and salvage this one. Maybe move Hunt into the backrow for a bit of ballplaying. Whatever.. haha

From a long-term point of view, I don't think we should weaken one position to strengthen another. Hodges is amongst the best centres in the game and should be left alone. Is there really any more he could do these days from fullback, and would we still retain the same strength in the outside backs?

Any shuffling of positions - in my opinion - should come with a genuine eye to the future. And that is with Karmichael on his way at season's end and our finals hopes just about done and dusted, Karmichael's first choice replacement should get some experience at fullback, with Hunt playing a role off the bench.

I disagree.

I reckon we move Hodges to Fullback permanently!!!

That's fine, but can I ask what adjustments you'd make to the outside backs to cover for the loss of Hodges? Just curious.

Yeah, that's the issue. We have a host of wingers/fullbacks but precious few centres.

Josh Hoffman to me has all the attributes required to be a top fullback, just needs to work on his speed a bit. Which he can do given a proper offseason (sat out last year's with a shoulder recon). Hodges isn't any quicker.

Gerard Beale would do well at fullback, and did perform well against Manly, and is probably just as good in the centres.

Yow Yeh is an excellent finisher on the wing, though not the best defensively.
Winterstein is much like Yow Yeh though probably a tad safer in defence/positionally.

Michaels...well, he thinks he's a centre, but he is such a poor reader of the play.
Glenn...he's a back rower. Potentially a damn good one. We keep wasting him in the centres and on the wing.
Folau...spare me the "he's paid too much to play wing" crap, he plays wing because at the moment about the only thing he's good at is catching bombs and barging over out wide. If he wants to play centre he has to spend a lot of the offseason learning how to defend, learning how to time his runs and hit gaps etc. I'm not sold on him as a centre at all, and in fact think he'll develop into a back rower the older he gets, or remain a big bustling winger.

Given that, I don't think we have a lot of choice other than:

1. Hoffman
2. Winterstein
3. Michaels/Beale/Glenn
4. Hodges
5. Yow Yeh

I'm no expert coach but I reckon we use Hunt or a young gun in the centres until Folau comes back and Folau is moved into the centres, which is where he played with the storm.

It's farcical the Broncos paid big money for Folau if he's only to be a winger!!!

Folau has been rather quiet of late and needs to be more involved in the centre part of the game: Lockyer, Wallace, and Folau as a combination with Hodges coming up from the rear as a surprise attack would be a sight to see.

I think Winterstein and Yow Yeh have been good as wingers so there's not much left to plug up in the backs.

We get this combo with some great forward movement and we'll fire.

*facepalm*

Seriously, have you watched Folau play? He's not a centre...yet. He can develop into one, but he's not a good reader of the play, doesn't hit gaps, doesn't defend well, doesn't communicate well.

And frankly I would've paid Tuqiri $400K a year to keep him in league back in 2002, and he was "only to be a winger".

I can't believe some of you guys want to keep with the same ole' thang.

It's time to get creative and see if we can reinvent this side. What has worked in the past, isn't working now and hasn't been for a long time.

BIG CHANGE IS CALLED FOR!!!

Bennett tried something different a few years ago and it worked awesomely!!!

Let's get awesome!!!

Hoffman should be fullback. I believe he is faster than Hunt, who was never fast to begin with.

Hodges is one of the best centres of the game and it would be silly to move him. Like Coxy said, we have a host of fulbacks/wingers, not necessarily centres.

Forget about Tuquiri!!!

Folau is THE MAN!!!

The Broncos are a champion club and we make champions. Folau has had plenty of experience in the centres and we can work on his flaws in time.

Let's get LOUD!!!!

Woohoo!!!

Someone needs to lay off the stillnox and red bull.....

Maybe Hoffman is the go then but I haven't seen a lot of the Broncos of late with him in as they've been playing crap.

However, I still reckon moving Hodges to Fullback is worth a shot for a month or so.

NO DOUBT HUNT IS SLOW FOR FULLBACK AND HAS ALWAYS BEEN SO!!!

I recall Trent Barrett scoring a try for the Dragons about 3 years ago in the 'Gong and Hunt lagged in speed big time.

I say give Hunt over to GAYFL!!! LMAO!!!

Hey that's a great idea! I might get in touch with the AFL and see if they're interested in making him an offer....that'd be huge news if it happened!

But again mate, what are the benefits?

The club has reached a new low at the moment and its clear that the coaching staff are going to have to start carefully planning the steps to take us out of the rot we're in. That may take 1 season, 5 or even 10 - who knows? But given the position we find ourselves in coupled with our finals chances, I just can't see any benefit to what you're now saying would be a "month or so" stint at fullback for ones of the game's best centres.

This may have been applicable in a time when the team may have needed a bit of shuffle to spark something in a time when we were going along reasonably well, but right now we are in the buisiness of planning and building up a team for the future. I just can't see how shifting our best centre to fullback only to weaken our outside backs could be considered a positive for the team in that regard.

I agree - he's not a centre and never will be IMO. I have absolutely no problem paying all that money for him to play solely on the wing because, as he's already shown, he's basically a guaranteed try every game on the wing - possibly more. I can't wait to see him when hes 22-23, he could be near unstoppable from 5m out from the line and in the air. He almost is as it is, but give him a few years to get even bigger and stronger and more confident and I have no doubt he'll be the one pushing for the Broncos try-scoring record (provided we have a decent forward pack to get us down the oppositions half, of course).

He's a winger, leave him there.

Hodges would be great at fullback, no doubt. Remember, the reason he left the Broncos in the first place was so he could play fullback, which was his preferred position. But like has been said, I think for the good of the team he needs to stay at centre.

Tell him he is dreaming, that would never happen. What organisation with any brains would pay $3 million for a guy from another code that has only ever played six games at schoolboy level.
